Congratulations to our very own pastor, Rev John Cadwell, for being elected as this year’s Southside Gospel Chapel Father of the Year! (Sorry picture lady forgot to get a family photo today with him but luckily she takes lots of photos and had some to add:) Congratulations again Pastor John and Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers, especially our fathers in the church! We have some great ones. We also remember those who couldn’t be with us today and those who are in heaven watching over us. And of course we raise our voices to our Heavenly Father today and every day. Today our church enjoyed a great Father’s Day service followed by our Father’s day dinner. It’s always great celebrating together!

Today we celebrated our children and young adults accomplishments. Our young ones are doing great things and letting the Lord lead their path. Congrats to Matthew for a good school year. Congrats to Haylee for graduating with her associates degree in early childhood from Kent State Tusc. Pray she finds the job that God has waiting for her. Congrats to Ethan for graduating from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Apprenticeship program and becoming a Journeyman. His 5 years of hard work and dedication has paid off! We also recognized those working in the education and nursing field since we missed their appreciation week last month. Shelley has taught 2nd grade at Conotton Valley for 25 years, with 26 1/2 years of total experience. She will be moving to kindergarten this year. Dale is the assistant training coordinator and a teacher at the plumbers and Pipefitters union. Stephanie has worked at Headstart as a teacher assistant and bus aide and is now a bus driver for Claymont. Special recognition goes out to our two special, hard working ladies who are working in the nursing field and helping people every day, Rhonda and Drema. Thanks to God for giving each one of them their gifts, skills, and talents and we pray they will always use them fie the Lord! Congratulations again to all of you!

God knew what he was doing when he made you a mom!!! Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there. A special shout out going out to all our our Southside Gospel Chapel moms. We have some pretty great ones!! And now let me introduce one of them to you, our very own Southside Gospel Chapel 2026 Mother of the Year, Drema Porter. Drema is a devoted mother and grandmother , a longstanding active member of our church and Women’s group, a dear friend, a strong prayer warrior, a role model, an all around genuine Woman of God. Congratulations Drema! We love you!

Up from the grave he arose!! Hallelujah Christ arose!! Because he lives, I can face tomorrow.. and life is worth the living just because He lives!! We celebrated these truths today with an Easter Sunrise Service followed by an Easter breakfast followed by our Resurection Service and communion. Happy Easter from our church family to yours. May you have a blessed Easter and as you’re celebrating, be thankful and remember the true reason for the season!
