God knew what he was doing when he made you a mom!!! Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there. A special shout out going out to all our our Southside Gospel Chapel moms. We have some pretty great ones!! And now let me introduce one of them to you, our very own Southside Gospel Chapel 2026 Mother of the Year, Drema Porter. Drema is a devoted mother and grandmother , a longstanding active member of our church and Women’s group, a dear friend, a strong prayer warrior, a role model, an all around genuine Woman of God. Congratulations Drema! We love you!

Up from the grave he arose!! Hallelujah Christ arose!! Because he lives, I can face tomorrow.. and life is worth the living just because He lives!! We celebrated these truths today with an Easter Sunrise Service followed by an Easter breakfast followed by our Resurection Service and communion. Happy Easter from our church family to yours. May you have a blessed Easter and as you’re celebrating, be thankful and remember the true reason for the season!

No power….now problem..when you’re determined to come and enjoy time worshipping together. Today we had church in the basement by window light with our gas heater then had a game day with bingo, UNO, pizza and other goodies, lots of laughter and fellowship. It was a great day together even without power!

Couldn’t make it to church today because of the snow so we are bringing it to you. Did you know snow is mentioned 23 times in the Bible? Snow is generally seen as a positive thing: spiritual purity, freedom from sin, pure hearts, a symbol of spiritual cleansing, forgiveness, manifestation of God’s power, a sign of God’s control and authority over nature and creation and our world, and an example of his creative beauty. Psalm 147:16 says “He spreads the snow like wool.” Job 37:6 says “For he says to the snow.. fall on the earth.” In Isaiah 1:18, he says “sins washed as white as snow”. Though this snow can be annoying, can keep us from our duties, and is cold, remember to take the time to appreciate its beauty and and remind yourself it is a gift from God! And in a few days it’ll all be gone, at least for this time! If you do have to go out, say a little prayer, slow down, stay warm, and be safe! Happy snow day!

Christmas is a celebratory time of year! Jesus was born to Mary in a manager to save you and me. Love, hope, peace, and joy are the messages of the season.
