Diocese of Tyler Roman Catholic Diocese of Tyler in East Texas. The Bishop of Tyler is Most Rev. Joseph E. Strickland.

Founded on December 12, 1986, and erected on February 24, 1987, the Diocese of Tyler is comprised of 33 counties in East Texas. The parishes of the diocese are grouped into six deaneries for administrative purposes: Northwest, West Central, Southwest, Northeast, Southeast, East Central.
