This Sunday we’ll continue to sing Not in Me, a song that points us away from ourselves and toward the sufficiency of Christ.
Our hope before God is not found in our righteousness, our efforts, or our ability to make ourselves worthy. Our only hope is Christ. His perfect life is our righteousness, His death is the payment for our sin, and His resurrection is our assurance that we belong to Him.
As you prepare to sing, consider the words of Paul:
“Whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ… that I may be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own.” — Philippians 3:7–9
Come Sunday ready to confess together: Not in me, but in Christ.
