Dear St. John's Family,

Out of an abundance of caution, I think it best to cancel services this weekend and reschedule the Annual Meeting for February 8th following the Divine Liturgy. Monday's choir rehearsal is also canceled.

The chance of our area being hit with ice/freezing rain tonight and into tomorrow and then again early Sunday morning looks pretty high. Please prepare as best you can and check in on neighbors and parishioners in your area if possible. Stay safe and warm!

Please check your emails as I have attached the readers services for Saturday and Sunday that can be prayed at home.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear sister in Christ, Sally Cain, who along with her late husband, Bob, where faithful members at St. John’s for many years. Memory eternal!

Sally Davis Cain, 71, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025 after a courageous battle with Stage 4 lung cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family as Father David Wooton, Orthodox Priest of St. Anthony the Great Church in San Antonio, said her final prayers.

Today we bid farewell and God’s speed to our mother and father in the Lord, Fr. David and Matushka Amy as Fr. takes up his new position as secretary for the OCA. With thankful, yet sorrowful hearts, we celebrated all that the Lord has allowed our community to accomplish under their leadership. Please keep Fr. And Matushka in your prayers as they begin their journey to the DC area tomorrow morning. Many years and Axios!!
