A Heart Full of Gratitude

"Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!" — Psalm 107:1 (ESV)

Church family,
My heart is overflowing with gratitude after our wonderful night of worship together. What a blessing it was to gather as the family of God and lift up the name that is above every name—Jesus Christ.

I want to personally thank everyone who sang a special, worked behind the scenes, and most importantly, every person who lifted their voice in praise to the Lord. Worship is not a performance; it is an offering. Last night, our church family brought an offering of praise that honored our Savior.
As I looked across the congregation, I was reminded that God is continuing to do a work here at Tyland Baptist Church. We are not where we used to be, and by God's grace, we are not finished growing. Every song sung, every prayer offered, every handshake given, and every act of service helps build momentum for the Kingdom of God.

As we step into June, it is my prayer that we continue moving forward together with excitement, unity, and purpose. May this summer be one of the greatest seasons of ministry our church has ever experienced. Let us be faithful to invite others, share the Gospel boldly, serve joyfully, and demonstrate the love of Christ wherever God places us.
The harvest is still plentiful. People are still hurting. Families still need hope. The Gospel still changes lives.
Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, our hearts surrendered to His will, and our hands busy doing the work He has called us to do.
Thank you for being such a faithful church family. I love and appreciate each of you more than you know.

Let's continue building momentum and trusting God for an unbelievable summer as we share the love of God with our community and beyond.

Serving Christ together,

Brothrr Scott

The Shepherd Still Leads

Psalm 23

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1

Hear me clearly today:
If the Lord is your Shepherd, then fear does not get the final word. Anxiety does not own you. Defeat does not define you. The darkness around you cannot cancel the God who walks beside you.

David did not say, “I might survive.”
He said, “The Lord is my shepherd.”

That is confidence.
That is assurance.
That is faith anchored in the character of God.

A shepherd protects.
A shepherd provides.
A shepherd guides.
A shepherd stays.

And notice this — David wrote Psalm 23 after battles, betrayal, heartbreak, and wilderness seasons. This is not the testimony of a man who had an easy life. This is the testimony of a man who discovered that God is faithful in every season.

Some of you are exhausted.
Some of you are carrying burdens nobody else sees.
Some of you have fought battles in your mind all week long.

But Psalm 23 destroys the lie that you are abandoned.

“He restoreth my soul.”

Not the world.
Not money.
Not success.
Not people.

God restores souls.

The enemy wants you discouraged, isolated, and spiritually drained. He whispers:
“You’ll never recover.”
“You’ll never change.”
“You’ll never make it through this.”

But the Word of God says the Shepherd restores.

That means what was weak can become strong again.
What was broken can heal again.
What was weary can breathe again.

Even in the valley, God is working.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.”

Notice David said through the valley.
Not trapped in it.
Not buried in it.
Not defeated by it.

You are going through it.

The valley is not your permanent address.

And shadows only exist where there is light.
If there is a shadow in your life today, it means the Light of the World is still nearby.

Somebody needs to stop speaking defeat over their life and start declaring the promises of God again.

You are not fighting alone.
You are not forsaken.
You are not forgotten.

The Shepherd still leads.
The Shepherd still protects.
The Shepherd still prepares tables in impossible places.
The Shepherd still causes cups to overflow.

And one day — after every valley, every storm, every battle, and every tear — we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

So lift your head today.

The Shepherd has not lost sight of you.

Practical Truths for Today

- Stay close to the Shepherd through prayer and His Word.
- Stop feeding fear and start feeding your faith.
- Remember: valleys are temporary, but God’s presence is eternal.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being our Shepherd. Thank You that when we are weak, You remain faithful. Restore weary hearts today. Break the chains of fear, discouragement, anxiety, and doubt. Remind Your people that You are still leading, still providing, and still fighting for them. Help us walk by faith and not by fear. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today, we pause to remember the men and women who gave everything so that we could live in freedom. Memorial Day is not about sales, cookouts, or a long weekend. It is about sacrifice. Brave Americans stood in the gap, faced the darkness of war, and laid down their lives so future generations could enjoy the blessings we often take for granted.
As your Pastor, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for those heroes who never came home. We honor their courage, their families, and the price they paid for our freedom.
But even greater than the sacrifice of soldiers is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who willingly gave His life on the cross so that all who believe in Him may have eternal life. Freedom is precious, but the greatest freedom is freedom from sin through Christ.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13
May we never forget either sacrifice.
🇺🇸 You are loved. — Pastor Scott Moore Tyland Baptist Church

We pulled onions and potatoes this morning. Right now they are drying out on the north (office) end of the church.
We may try to move them inside in the morning.
Please come get what you want or bring a tote in the morning and grab them after church.

Keep an eye on the strawberries which we share with the rabbits. There are some ripe ones along the way. Atleast a snack.

Peppers are ready.
Squash is ready.

Tomatoes are getting closer. Green ones hanging now.

The corn is tasseling.

Brussel sprouts are coming along.

There's even a cauliflower out there for someone to grab.

Grass burs in the lawn around the garden are even getting ready. 🤣
Pick a few of the plants and donate them to the dumpster. It loves them! 👊
