Gracious God, thank you for keeping the people and pets of Castle Danger safe. Send your Holy Spirit to give comfort to those who have lost their homes or other buildings. Continue to protect all who are fighting the fires nearby, and across our state, and those offering support services. We thank you for the rain overnight and this morning! Send it where it is most needed! With gratitude we pray. Amen. Let it be so.

All is well at OSL! The evacuation is lifted for this area but road closure remains. Pray for rain tonight, green grass and a quick end to the dangerous fire conditions!

Because of the Stewart Trail fire in the Castle Danger area (which is still closed to regular traffic), OSL is not worshipping in person. But last evening I offered a mini-service of readings, sermon, and prayers (find the video below).
The gospel was John 17.1-11; 20. And I made the point that in this reading Jesus was praying for the people that were with him (on the last night before his crucifixion), but also that Jesus was praying for us, up north, and all over the world...before we we're even born, who believe in Jesus because of their testimony which becomes the New Testament! Imagine that: John 17.20 “I ask not only on behalf of these (people) but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one.

Dear people of God at Our Saviour’s, Castle Danger,
Our bishop, Amy Ogren just called me to check on all of you! She wanted to let all of us know that she is holding us tightly in prayer.” Bishop Amy also spoke so fondly of our congregation and church. So everyone, in this scary time, know that our bishop is praying for us and holding us tightly, and know that the Holy Spirit is likewise, with us, comforting us and guiding us.
In Christ’s peace,
Pastor Nancy Hong
