A Mother's Day Card from God

05/10/2026

Good morning church family, it is with both sadness over our loss and joy over another soul's homecoming that I share the passing of our brother Tom Mulvahill yesterday. Remember Pam and their family in your prayers during this time of loss and grieving...

PRAYER UPDATE:

Dennis Tucholski is home after his gall bladder surgery and healing well...

Dave Baker is recuperating at Ruth Tulloch's house, and is well enough for visitors--just call first to make sure he's ready for you.

Wendy Saunders is on her 12th day of being hospitalized. She is at U of M in Ann Arbor, where they are trying their best to get rid of the unrelenting headache she has been suffering from this entire time. When she was first diagnosed, they suspected another auto-immune disease...but after the team of neurologists examined her they changed her illness to what they call a "Complex Migraine."

She's dealt with migraines most of her life, but nothing like this. Her right side was (and is) mostly paralyzed and very difficult to move. This includes her feet, legs, hands, arms, shoulder, face...and most terrible of all--her only seeing eye. Our hopes are that they can transition her to oral pain meds and steroids that are sufficient to make it possible to move her to the rehab center in Standish. Her symptoms are like someone who suffered a stroke, and it will be a lot of work to retrain those nerves once the migraine is over.

Denise is staying at our son's house in Brighton, and I have Raeanna & Jensen here with me. We're all holding our own, and leaning on God when we cannot. Your prayers have meant more than we can say...thank you...and please; keep them coming.

Now, I want to remind our ladies about the tea fellowship this Saturday. If you didn't sign up but would like to attend, just let me know here...or give me a call. Love you, Pastor Michael

Good Tuesday afternoon everyone, and I waited to write until Wendy's doctors made their morning rounds. There is some good news today, but she is still a long way from being healthy. For the first time in a week Wendy was able to wiggle her toes, which is something we all probably take for granted...but it would be very frightening to realize you couldn't make them move.

There is still a lot of weakness on her right side, along with tingling in all the nerves. But they finished her infusion treatments today, and they seem to be helping...and they finally seem to have figured out the right combination of steroids and pain meds to lessen her suffering. Her eyes are still shaking when she tries to focus, and her face feels like when the dentist numbs you...so please keep those prayers coming.

Yesterday was her worst day of the nine she's been in the hospital, so it's really good to hear she can talk more clearly today and feels less pain. Still more than I would want to endure, but she's a lot stronger than me in that department. Please keep those prayers coming, and Denise is staying in the room with her now. Pray for them both...

I just spoke with Dave Baker, who is being released from the hospital today. He is doing well, but very sore...which happens when they saw thru your breastbone. Duh...He sounded really good though, and I'm betting he'll have a lot more energy when in a few weeks than he has for the last few years. Dennis Tucholski is healing at home after his surgery to remove his gall bladder, and doing well. Remember Dave and Dennis in your prayers...

Now, for the activities this week. We start tomorrow at 6:00 with our Wednesday Night Bible Study/Prayer Meeting. We have much to pray for, and I would love to see all of you joining us...so if you're not busy come and visit. We're in II Timothy chapter-two for our study, so read and come share what the Spirit lays on your heart with your church family. Iron sharpens iron...and we need to be as sharp as we can in this world we live in...

Sunday the 10th we will gather at 10:00 for Sunday School, and we will pick up in chapter twenty-four of Matthew where we left off last time. Bible time is my favorite, and I hope it is yours, too. It's such a blessing to be able to open God's Word without fear of being arrested like so many places in this world.

Oh, in case you didn't know; this Sunday is Mother's Day. So bring your mom if you can, and I will have a message for her. The sermon for this Sunday is titled; "A Mother's Day Card From God." I can't give you a text, because there are so many...so you'll have to come to hear them all. I'm bringing a handout for anyone who would like a copy of all the ones I was drawn to for this message. I'm praying for a lot of ladies to join us...so bring your mom if you can.

Have a great week, and I hope to see you tomorrow...but especially on Sunday morning. He is Risen!! Love you all, Pastor Michael

Wendy Saunders is in Tawas hospital diagnosed with Guillane-Parre Syndrome. Her immune system attacked her nervous system while fighting an infection. Special infusion meds are being delivered today 🙏 that will take four days to administer. She would love voice messages, calls, or visits as she can't read due to her condition.

Dennis Tucholski's gall bladder surgery is today...UPDATE...they removed gall bladder and he's home recuperating. 🙏

Good Tuesday morning everyone, even if it was a rainy one to start. They're saying sunshine will be here by lunch time, and that sounds pretty nice to me. Hope you've been enjoying these warm sunny days, because it's going to get a bit cooler to finish the week.

So, I'm going to start with some prayer needs...of which there are several. First is Tom Mulvahill, who is in Covenant Hospital. His A-Fib has settled down with meds, so no cardioversion is scheduled now. However, he developed pneumonia and an infection that they are giving anti-biotics to eliminate. Also, they have had to halt his chemo treatments for the cancer he is fighting because his body is going thru so much at once. Remember to keep Tom and Pam in you prayers...

This Thursday the 30th Dave Baker is having heart valve-replacement surgery at U of M, and Friday the 1st Dennis Tucholski is having surgery to remove gall stones at St. Mary's in Saginaw. Be in prayer for these men and their families, and for the surgeons who will be performing these operations...

Also, our daughter Wendy is in the Tawas Hospital after suffering an episode of dizziness and vomiting when standing or moving. They have run ct-scans, mri's, and bloodwork which seem to eliminate a stroke as the reason; praying this is so. The top diagnosis seems to be something called a Vestibular Migraine, which is a particularly nasty type to suffer. The specialists at U of M have been doing video consultations with the doctors in Tawas, and we are praying for improvement soon. This morning was particularly painful for Wendy, so please remember her in your prayers...

Now, for this week's ministries. We will gather tomorrow at 6:00 for our Quarterly Business Meeting, which takes the place of our usual Wednesday Night Bible Study. Only members can vote, but everyone is encouraged to attend...and if you're interested in becoming a member--please let me know.

On Sunday the 3rd, we will gather for Sunday School at 10:00. Mike Deneut will be sharing the lesson this week, so please come out and support him. He always brings something interesting to hear and ponder...

Then at 11:00, we will assemble for our Sunday Morning Worship Service, and Pastor David Evans will be our special guest preacher this week. His message is on "The Great Awakening," and his text is found in John 3:1-7...so spend some time in this passage and come ready to hear what the Holy Spirit brings thru our beloved former pastor and friend.

Have a nice rest of the week, and I'll see you tomorrow at the Business Meeting...Pastor Michael

The Bible; it's the Word in text all about the Word in Person

04/21/2026

Good Tuesday morning everyone, and it's going to be a sunny and warm day to enjoy today. So if you can, get outdoors and enjoy some sunshine in the yard. I see the flowers starting to pop up here at our place, and it feels so good after that long winter we just went thru. Thank you Lord for the springtime!

So, I'll start with some announcement reminders. If you didn't hear, our church family is taking a fieldtrip to the Tawas Theater this Thursday the 23rd to watch the movie; "The Great Awakening." Our church van will be leaving the church (thank you Stephen for driving) around 5:45, and if there are more coming than we can fit our newest members the Esterline family have volunteered to drive their van, too. So if you didn't sign up to go, you can just leave a note here and I'll get you added. The church is paying the admission price, so all you have to buy is the popcorn. :)

Then for our ladies, you have been invited to attend a Tea Party and musical event on Saturday May 9th by the ladies of Hale Baptist Church. The event begins at 1:30, and our church van (thank you Vicki for driving) will be leaving the church around 1:00. There is a sign up sheet in the foyer, and I was happy to see it already filling up last Sunday. Denise and Wendy have attended this event for several years now, and so have some of our other ladies...they all say it's a wonderful fellowship. Our church will be sharing a love offering to the ladies of Hale Baptist for their hospitality...

Wednesday the 22nd we will gather at 6:00 for our Wednesday night Bible study/prayer meeting. Our group has been growing, and it's so wonderful seeing new faces joining us. Our blessings increase with each one who joins us, so if you're able to attend we would love to see you there. We are finishing up chapter-one in II Timothy, so please read this chapter and come ready to share what grabs your heart in this passage with your church family. Iron sharpens iron, and we do a good job of sharpening each other.

Sunday the 26th will be our last Sunday of April, and that makes me sad as it feels like April never got started with all that rain and flooding we've had. We will gather at 10:00 for Sunday school, and we will be finishing up in chapter twenty-three from the Book of Matthew. Jesus has just rebuked the Pharisees, and now He will be sharing His thoughts on Jerusalem. So read up and join us as we open God's Word together...our class is growing closer to Jesus, and we would love to have you growing with us.

Then at 11:00 we will assemble for our Sunday morning worship service, and the sermon for this Sunday is titled; "Jesus and the Bible." Our text comes from Mark 7:1-9, and I hope you'll read this passage before coming so the Holy Spirit can prepare your heart for the message He laid on mine. Don't forget to pray for me as I put this message together, and I'll be praying for all of you to grow thru what comes on Sunday.

Have a great week, and I would love to see you for all of our events this week...starting tomorrow at Bible study. Love you all...Pastor Michael

Prayer isn't a chore; it's a blessing

ATTENTION Ladies...

You are invited to attend a ladies' tea and musical experience being held in Hale on Saturday May 9th at 1:30. Vickie Hosko has volunteered to drive the church van if we have enough ladies signing up.

I will post the flyer and the sign up sheet for you to read, and you can sign up to ride the van or driving yourself...so we can let the event coordinator know how many are coming. Several of our ladies have went before and say it's a wonderful fellowship. You can add a note here if you plan to attend...

See you Sunday morning, Pastor Michael
