Good Tuesday morning everyone, and it's another crisp one outside. It seems a little early, but our yard is covered with leaves today...and I'm not ready to grab a rake yet. :(

So, I'll start with a reminder that this Saturday the 12th at 4:00 we will be enjoying our 2nd Annual Fish Fry. This year the weather is looking very nice, so we will be outside under the pavilion this time; yea! That will make it so much easier for the volunteers doing the cooking for our church family--and thank you! And thank you to everyone bringing your favorite side dishes and desserts...and please try to bring some friends, too.

Then on Wednesday the 9th we will meet at 6:00 for our Wednesday night Bible study/Prayer meeting. We are just starting in Chapter-six from the Book of Acts with the choosing of the seven men to help manage the duties of the church, and one of them is a man named Stephen. If you're not busy Wednesday, I hope you'll join us and add to everyone's blessings that night.

On Sunday the 13th we will gather for Sunday school at 10:00, when we will continue our walk thru the Book of Ruth. She has just been introduced to Boaz, the owner of the field she was gathering the leftover grain from for her MIL Naomi. There's a lot more that's going to happen after their meeting, and it's amazing how much it resembles the Good News message of the Gospel. You should come and check it out...

After class, we will assemble for our morning worship service at 11:00. This week's sermon comes from another request, and I need your prayers as I gather my notes together for this one. The title is; "How Do You Bear Suffering?" Now you know why I need prayers...and our text comes from Job 5:1-6 & Job 6:1-10...

I hope to see you Wednesday for Bible study, Saturday for fish and fellowship, and again on Sunday as we worship our Lord Jesus and our Father in heaven. HUGS...and have a great rest of the week....Pastor Michael

Upon This Rock...what is the Rock Jesus is building His Church upon?

09/01/2026

Good Tuesday morning everyone, and it's a bit of a muggy one out there today. We just got back from our morning walk and the humidity was already heavy, but another day of summer time is okay with me. Get out there and enjoy it...

But I'm hoping it won't be as humid on Thursday morning at 9:00 when we gather for our 3rd Annual firewood-cutting day at Miss Renee Hoef's house. We could use some more volunteers if you're not busy that morning, and the more helpers the easier the work for everyone. Plus you can bring a dish to share for our lunch, which is always a feast. If you haven't signed up on the sheet at church you are still welcome to join us, and if you leave me a note I will know you're coming for the planning of our teams.

Tomorrow we will meet at 6:00 for our Wednesday night Bible study/prayer meeting. We are working our way thru the Book of Acts, and we will be starting chapter-six; so you can read and then come join us for our discussions on the lessons we find inside. Our Bible study times are a blessing, and you would make it an even bigger one if you visit...

Sunday the 6th we will meet at 10:00 for Sunday school, and almost a week of September will be gone already. We have just started our walk thru the Book of Ruth, which is a book that resembles the Gospel message in so many ways. You will be blessed if you join us, and so will we...so please come and see.

Then at 11:00 we will assemble for our morning worship service, and our sermon for this week is titled; "Upon This Rock." Our text comes from the Book of Matthew 16:13-19...and I encourage you to read this passage and let it sink into your hearts before Sunday. There's so much for us to learn here, and I need you to pray for me as I prepare this message for our church family. I believe this is one of the most important and personal passages in all of scripture...

Hope to see you tomorrow at Bible study, on Thursday morning for the wood cutting, and then again on Sunday morning. Time with our church family is my favorite! Love you all, Pastor Michael

John 3:16...what a powerful verse!

08/27/2026

Man oh man...it's Thursday morning and I'm just now posting our weekly update. I apologize for that, and my only excuse is being caught up in finding a roofer to fix that roof leak that occurred the night of Raeanna's Graduation Party. I quickly found out that many of them don't do repair work...only new roofs. Even the company that installed my roof 15 years ago turned me down...ugggh. But I found one in West Branch and met the owner and his wife yesterday when they came for an estimate. They were nice people, and they will be fixing our roof for us. Thank you, Lord.

Well, last night was Wednesday Night Bible Study...and we had a great conversation as we finished up chapter-five from the Book of Acts. So you can spend some time reading chapter-six, and plan on attending next Wednesday to share what you learn with the rest of us. Our group has been growing, and it would be wonderful to grow some more...that's in numbers and spiritual maturity.

Now, a reminder that next Thursday at 9:00 we will be meeting at Renee Hoef's house for our 3rd Annual firewood cutting fellowship. Our sign-up sheet needs a lot more names to make the work lighter for everyone who comes, so if you're available--please come out and we'll find something for everyone to do...and with everyone bringing something to share for lunch we'll have a feast, too.

Sunday the 30th is the last of August, and we will gather that morning at 10:00 for Sunday school. We are beginning a study in the Book of Ruth, which is a short but wonderful study in faith and redemption. So read up, and we'll see you there...

Then we'll assemble at 11:00 for our morning worship service, and our message for this week comes from a request. The title for this sermon is the same as the scripture it comes from; "John 3:16." I preached on this passage my first week here at Twining Baptist Church, and I'm excited to preach on it again now that I've gained experience in the pulpit. Try to bring a guest if you can...and pray for lives to be changed.

Have a nice rest of your week, and I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday morning. He is Risen! HUGS...Pastor Michael

Volunteers Needed

Thursday the 3rd of September at 9:00 a.m.; we will be having our 3rd annual firewood cutting, splitting and stacking fellowship time at Renee Hoef's. There will be a sign up sheet at church for workers, and you can also leave a note if you're able to help. I'm signing myself up as our first volunteer...Pastor Michael

Good Tuesday morning everyone, and it feels like the humidity finally went away last night...and the temps dropped quite a bit, too. Actually, our birch trees have been dropping their leaves already and the yard is getting covered with them. :/

Well, I want to start with a thank-you to everyone who brought all that food for us to enjoy at our picnic last Sunday. The clouds kept it cooler and there was a nice breeze...just enough to make it comfortable for us to sit and talk while we enjoyed all those tasty dishes and desserts. I love when we spend time together as a church family...

We will do that again tomorrow at 6:00 when we gather for our Wednesday night Bible study/prayer meeting. We are studying the Book of Acts and how the early church got established, and it would be wonderful if you could come visit and see what a rewarding time we have together in God's Word.

Then we'll do it again on Sunday the 23rd at 10:00 as we sit down for Sunday school. We are in the last chapter from the Book of Matthew, which means we will be starting in another book very soon--and we'd love to have you join us as we decide on which book will be next. So if you're able to make it to church an hour earlier than the service--please do...

After Sunday school, we will assemble for our morning worship service at 11:00. Our text for this Sunday's sermon is Psalm 3, and the title is; "Help For Depression." I'm enjoying our time in the Psalms, and this one is another written in a time of great turmoil for King David. I found encouragement as I spent time reading, and I hope you'll pray for me as I will be starting on writing our message as soon as I hit the send button on this post.

Remember to pray for those needs on our prayer sheet, and I hope to see you tomorrow...and again on Sunday. Love you all, Pastor Michael
