Procrastination; Destroyer of Good Intentions

06/02/2026

Good Tuesday afternoon everyone. We had extra kids with our grands overnight sleeping in the basement, so I waited for them to wake up before posting today. Teenagers sleep late...Also, if you're not busy--please join us this Saturday the 6th at 10:00 a.m. for our church cleanup day. We're going to have pizza for lunch, so that means good food and a good time of fellowship while we work. 🙂

To start I have a few new prayer requests to share;

Taylor Esterline asks for prayers for her niece's boyfriend's family after he was killed in a car crash last Saturday morning. He was graduating this month... 😞

My insurance agent (Suzette) asks for prayers for her grownup son (Austin) who lives in Florida after a relationship breakup has lead to him being depressed and suicidal... 😞

And for those who have asked; both of my skin biopsies came back negative this time. Thank you, Lord! I am so thankful not to need another more involved surgery... 🙂

So, now for Wednesday night Bible study/prayer meeting which happens tomorrow night at 6:00. We are going to be looking at the 4th chapter from II Timothy, which is the final chapter in these letters from the Apostle Paul. It's a powerful chapter, and this week's sermon is coming from what landed on my heart as I spent time with this passage...

Sunday the 7th we will gather at 10:00 for Sunday school, and open up the Book of Matthew to chapter twenty-five as we look at the parable of the talents. Jesus is teaching His disciples (and us) about how and what we should be doing with the gifts and abilities God blesses us with while we're here on Earth. I hope you'll join us...

Then at 11:00 we will assemble for our morning worship service. Our text for this Sunday comes from II Timothy 4:9-22, and the title is; "Come Before Winter." Please remember to pray for me as I seek the Holy Spirit's guidance in preparing this message so that it will be exactly what we all need to hear. I've only written the first page so far, so please send those prayers soon...

Now enjoy the summer weather, and I'll see you soon. Love you all, Pastor Michael

Between a Rock And a Hard Place...

05/26/2026

Good Tuesday morning everyone, and what a beautiful summer day we have to enjoy today! Spring has struggled this year, but these last two days have been a lot more like summer than spring...so get outdoors and enjoy it (except for the mosquitoes).

For those of you who weren't able to attend church Sunday, I need to share some bittersweet news we received; Mike & Donna Deneut are moving away from our Sunrise Side to be closer to their family. They're going to be really close, since their backyards will be backing up to each other. We will miss them terribly, but it's wonderful news for them and their family.

Also, for those asking how our daughter Wendy is doing; she was able to attend church with us Sunday! Thank you, Lord! She still has a lot of physical therapy ahead, and some rough days, too...but what a wonderful answer to prayer it was to pick her up on our way to church! Thank you for your prayers...and keep them coming...

So, tomorrow is Wednesday and we will gather at 6:00 for our Bible study and prayer meeting. We are studying in the third chapter from the Book of II Timothy, so spend time with this chapter and come ready to share the insights the Spirit lays on your heart with your church family. Every Wednesday we grow closer to God and closer to each other thru our time together, and we would love to have you join us.

Sunday the 31st will be the last day of May, and we will gather at 10:00 for Sunday School. We are just starting chapter twenty-five from the Book of Matthew, so read this chapter, too. We have such a wonderful group of people each week, and it would be so nice if you could join us, too.

Then at 11:00, we will assemble for our Sunday worship service. I've been sitting at my computer the last two days writing my sermon, and it's been flowing so easily. That's because this message came to me while Wendy was in the hospital, and it's been rolling around in my heart ever since. Our text comes from Matthew 26: 36-44, and the title for this sermon is; "A Rock and A Hard Place."

If you've ever went thru a hard time, or you're going thru one right now; this message is for you. And if you know someone who is passing thru the furnace of suffering--please invite them. I needed this message, and God sent it to me...and Sunday I am going to share it with all of you.

Have a blessed week. I so hope to see you tomorrow...and again on Sunday. Sunday's are my favorite...love you all, Pastor Michael

America, America...God shed His grace on thee...

05/19/2026

Good Tuesday morning everyone, and I hope you're all enjoying the summer heat we've been feeling the last few days. I'll admit that it was a little hotter than I care for yesterday, but it was better than a high in the 40's...had enough of those days this year. I even mowed our grass for the first time, which is my favorite yard work.

Updating our health prayer needs, Dave Baker is now home and recovering well from his heart valve surgery. Wendy Saunders is home, too...and she begins her physical therapy tomorrow to begin repairing the weakness and paralysis in her right side. Also, the many pills they have her taking are effecting her digestive system and bringing more issues. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers...HUGS

So, tomorrow we will meet at 6:00 for our Wednesday night Bible study/prayer meeting. We will be starting chapter-three from II Timothy, as we look at Jesus' description of what mankind will place value on before the End Times come. You're going to find this chapter very eye-opening...so spend time reading; and come join us. Our group continues to grow both in numbers, and closer to the Lord and each other--and we'd love to have you with us.

It's hard to believe, but this Sunday the 24th is part of the Memorial Day weekend already. It's coming early this year, but it feels way too early. I suppose that's because it feels like it was still winter last week with those cold temps, but Memorial Day is coming fast. So remember those who gave their all for every freedom we enjoy here in these United States of America.

So, on Sunday we will meet at 10:00 for Sunday School. We are walking our way thru the Book of Matthew, and are in chapter twenty-four where Jesus is telling us the signs that will appear when the time is coming for His return. This chapter is another eye-opening one, because you'll realize the signs are all around us. I hope you'll join us for this important study...

Then at 11:00 we will assemble for our Sunday morning worship service. Our sermon for this Sunday is titled; "America." Our text comes from Deuteronomy 6:3-5 & II Chronicles 7:14. and I encourage you to spend time reading and meditating on these two passages before Sunday. Also, please remember to pray for me as I seek the Spirit's guidance while writing this sermon for our church family. Your prayers are so important to me...

Have a great week, and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow as we open God's Word...and again on Sunday as we worship together on this Memorial Day Weekend. HUGS to everyone, and see you soon...Pastor Michael

UPDATE
She has a long way to go before Wendy is back to her normal self, but I drove her home today and she's resting on her couch. Still a terrible headache, so please keep those prayers coming.

05/13/2026

Good Wednesday morning everyone, sorry I'm a day late but I was busy yesterday preparing for Wendy's return. She's now at the Sterling Medilodge, but she desperately wants to come home asap and there are some things needing to be done to the house before she can come. But she's closer than she was at Ann Arbor, which is a small bonus...thank you for your prayers.

So, tonight is our Wednesday Night Bible Study. Our group continues to expand, and we would love to see more of our church family joining us. So if you aren't busy tonight at 6:00...come and check us out. We are in II Timothy, and we have great discussions each week on what we read. It's a great way to know your church family better...and to grow closer to each other.

Sunday the 17th we will meet at 10:00 for Sunday School, when we will open up the Book of Matthew to chapter twenty-four. So spend some time reading, and come join us. We have a really nice group, and you will enjoy the fellowship and time in God's Word with your church family.

Then at 11:00 we will assemble for our Sunday morning worship service, and this Sunday we have a special musical guest (Danny Shafer) who will be singing songs of inspiration and encouragement during the service. Danny is Mary Santure's brother, and he does a wonderful job sharing God's Word thru music. I hope you will come and support him in this ministry, and we will take up a love offering after the service is over.

Now have a great rest of the week, and I will see you tonight...and again on Sunday. Love you all...Pastor Michael

UPDATE

U of M has approved Wendy Saunders being moved to Medilodge at Sterling, and for Denise driving her instead of an ambulance. She has a lot of physical therapy ahead, but her headache is finally tolerable again. Thank you for all your prayers, and please keep them coming. It's going to be nice having her where we can visit...Thank you Father for holding Wendy tight...
