From yesterday’s sermon on John 14:1-15

“Jesus reminds His disciples that if they have seen Him, they have seen, and know, the Father. As He nears His inevitable death - this reminder serves to encourage them in all that He has said thus far. He truly is the Christ, who holds both life and death in His hands - and therefore, His disciples need not fret.

In yesterday’s sermon on John 13:31-38:

“As Jesus foretells that He will be glorified shortly as a result of His death and resurrection on the cross, He reminds His disciples of one simple truth that must echo through the ages of all Christendom: all men will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another.”

While you pull up this Sunday for worship, you might notice something *slightly* different. A few finishing touches will take place, but to be quite literal: this is a sign from the Lord!

We can’t help but give thanks for those who have supported us to make this possible, especially our own local church members and friend who have come alongside us in the re-plant of the church.

- Resonate Church (Janesville, WI)
- First Baptist Sulphur Springs (Sulphur Springs, TX)
- The Lakeland Baptist Association
- The Texas Baptists
- Minnesota/Wisconsin Convention
- Redeemer Parkside (Kenosha, WI)
- North American Mission Board (NAMB)

To all who have also donated privately, we can’t express our gratefulness as well! It has been an immense kindness to our small church to see so many who are willing to help us, for the sake of God’s Name.

May the Lord bless you all for your kindness and partnership, even in something as small as this! And may He especially grant us all even more kindness as we seek to be faithful to the Great Commission.

In today’s sermon on John 13:18-30

“In His final moments with His disciples in the Upper Room, Jesus reveals that one among them is a traitor. Though a sober warning for all at the Last Supper, He reassures the faithful eleven that this must happen to fulfill all Scripture. The Christ is to be betrayed, but this is no cause for fear in His disciples, for the Lord remains sovereign even in betrayal such as this.”

Jesus enters into the final hours of His Passion, having loved His own who were in the world. Despite knowing betrayal, mockery, scourging, and an agonizing death stand before Him, He loved them even to the end. Though Lord of all, He began the long road to Golgotha in humble love for us lowly sinners.

Time and again, Jesus has called Israel to repentance and faith, not on the basis of His own authority, but the Father's.

It was the Father who sent Him; it was the Father who revealed Himself through Jesus; it was the Father who gave Jesus the precise Word to speak.

Yet the inevitable has come: Jesus is about to depart from this world. The time for repentance is at hand - yet the patience of God grows thin as the judgment of God looms for those who do not believe in His Son.

God is far more gracious to us lowly sinners than we know. He doesn’t merely forgive us, but as J.I. Packer says (paraphrased): “He has not only called us rebels and saved us, but called us ‘sons and daughters of God,’ and invited us to the family meal”

Lord willing we will have two baptisms this Easter Sunday! Please join us in prayer for them, and that the Lord would continue to add to the harvest in Westosha.
