KiDS’ CAMP 2026

Looking forward to the last few days of school!?

Well how about you start planning your summer!!
KiDS’ Camp is in 55 days!!

There’s still plenty of time/room to register your camper!!

If you’re too old to be a camper you can still plan your summer at CAMP LOR-RAY!
We are still accepting staff applications from high schoolers, college students, young adults!
This is a great opportunity to get experience within the youth ministry!
There’s no such thing as ‘too much’ help at camp!
No job is too small!

KiDS’ Camp Update as of May 1st

With sad news first - Currently only have 2 campers registered for the 1st-3rd grade session.
If we don’t receive a minimum of 13 more camper registrations for that week, we will hav to cancel that week!
Good news - there’s still plenty of room to sign up your 1st-3rd grader for camp!!

4th-6th & 7th-9th grade is looking awesome with camper registrations but…. We could really use some guy senior/junior counselors!

For all three weeks we are still in need of some adult volunteers to assist in the kitchen!
And we always invite those who are too old to be a camper and too young to be a junior counselor to come back and enjoy a week at camp volunteering!

If you are a male teacher, pastor, vicar or staff minister and trying to plan a trip for your summer we have the perfect opportunity!
Come be a bible leader for a week at KC!
We would love to see one more person sign up for each week! The reason it’s the perfect opportunity is because you can share God’s Word while staying in His wonderful creation! Soak in the sun by the lake or join in with the activities!
No need to worrying about making meals those are covered too! See perfect summer trip!

We know school is about the end and that means summer is right around the corner - let’s make plans at Camp Lor-Ray this summer!

Another great day for a work day at Camp today!!! Weather was about 20° warmer than forecast and between our campers and Melissa W’s LARP members we filled the picnic tables outside the dining hall at lunch. Special thanks to those who prepared that delicious meal for everyone!

Highlight for me was being asked if there was anything else that needs to be done before opening day at Family Camp next Saturday. This is the first time in recent memory that we’ve had enough volunteers to tackle all the major projects that need to be completed every year prior to camping season.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED THE LAST TWO WEEKENDS, AND TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN OUT AT CAMP THIS WEEK (AND NEXT) TO PREPARE FOR ANOTHER GREAT SUMMER AT CAMP LOR-RAY!

Don’t forget, we have another work weekend scheduled for this Saturday the 25th starting at 9 AM! There will be a Sloppy Joe lunch served around noon for all who attend! We can’t wait to see all the helpful hands making this volunteer camp look wonderful to enjoy this season! Thank you! See you there!

How did the first work weekend go of 2026?
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! 😎

BIG Ole ROUND of APPLAUSE to the camp families who cleaned out bathhouses and cabins!
You all made the place sparkle! ✨

HUGE thank you to all of the LARPS for coming out and helping move items in the hall to clearing leaves on trails and whatever else you may have chipped in as well!!

MANY thanks to all the gentlemen who went up the night before and got the water running for this year!

THAK YOU THANK YOU to all the camp members and board members who helped pick up leaves everywhere! Also for making any repairs needed for the Moldstad Hall revamp! Along with anything else I have forgotten to mention!

Thank you to everyone and please know you all are very appreciated! Not enough time for a list of names on FB but you all know who you are 😉
It was a great effort on everyone's part!

Also wanted to share that it has arranged for a contractor to donate his time and crew to paint the Moldstad hall in the upcoming weeks. A big thank you to Christian Vogel of Matthew 6 Construction.

A good lunch was there for all to eat and visit - and take a break! SUCH A WONDERFUL DAY OF WORK!

Next Saturday the 25th, is another planned Clean-Up Day. Again, please plan to meet at the Moldstad Hall at 9am. Family Camp still has a lot of leaves to clean up. If you want to bring your trailers to camp on that same weekend, I see no reason that you can't if that helps save you an extra trip to get your site cleared!
A sloppy joe lunch will be provided for all at Noon.
Again - Not to be repetitious, but a BIG thanks for all the help - it was a good day at Camp Lor-Ray!!

Let’s makes this camp beautiful for this year for ALL to enjoy! As this is a volunteer based camp and it takes all the hands to keep it cleaned and ready for fellowship!

April 18th the first work day scheduled is to begin at 9am.
Plan to meet up at Kids’ Camp area to start the day! Pizza will be served for lunch!

April 25th the second work day scheduled will begin as at 9am. Plan on meeting at Family Camp area. Sloppy Joes will be served for lunch!

Will keep posted for any changes of where to meet at camp due to weather! As there are plenty of inside projects to complete as well!

Look forward to seeing many there to help make light work of our projects!

Hey Family Campers- we know a number of you have been trying to make reservations for this summer but the link to our reservation system isn’t working. That’s because we are trying to find a system that does what we need/want. Hang in there…

We are actually near a decision on a new reservation program. Some have the features we need, but then have too many fee-tures that we know you won’t enjoy. Others have low fees, but won’t allow us to use the discounts we’re all used to. Our goal is to have a new program in place by the end of this month that is very similar to the old one, but that also makes it easier for you to use. There are so many programs out there, but we are a very unique camp that is generally not open to the public….

For all our followers who are also Thrivent clients- I was just reminded that you have until March 31 to direct your 2025 Choice Dollars to Camp Lor-Ray. Visit thrivent.com/thriventchoice . We are listed under Lor-Ray Camp Association in Eau Claire, Michigan- our registered office.

100% of Thrivent’s Choice Dollars directed to Camp Lor-Ray is designated for our Financial Assistance Fund where it enables young campers to attend our summer camp program when their families would not be able to send them without some assistance. Last year Camp received $572 from the Thrivent Choice program. We awarded $1,349 in assistance. The difference is made up from private donations and 25% of all group rentals of the Kids’ Camp area.

If you have Choice Dollars available, please consider directing them to Camp Lor-Ray.
