Tip of the Iceberg Scripture: Daniel 6:10-27, Daniel in the Den of Lions We can lose our cool when we don't know what is going to happen next. We only see the tip of the iceberg and have no idea what is going on below. Daniel didn't know what was going to happen when he was thrown into the den of lions, but he knew that God was in control, so he kept his cool. Objective: Kids will learn, “I can keep my cool because God is in control.”

Avalanche Scripture: James 1:19-21, Slow to Anger, James 3:3-10, Tame the Tongue When we let our anger take over, it can lead to an uncontrollable avalanche of emotion. The Bible teaches us the importance of listening before we speak and learning to control our anger. Objective: Kids will learn “I can keep my cool by thinking before I speak."

Snowball Effect Scripture: John 13:34-35
Love One Another When we lose our cool, we can often attack people around us. The words we throw around in anger can sting like getting hit in the face with a snowball. But when we keep our cool and remember that “Jesus forgave me, so I can forgive others” we create a whole new snowball effect. Just like a snowball rolling down a hill soon turns into a gigantic snowball that’s too heavy to lift, our decision to show love instead of anger can have a gigantic impact on the people around us. Objective: Kids will learn, “I can keep my cool and show love because Jesus loves me.”

The Sweetest Christmas Ever

Idea: Making Christmas cookies is a sweet labor of love. These sweet treats require the finest ingredients, shaped just right, baked properly, and iced to perfection – but they are worth the effort. God moved heaven and earth to give us a Savior. He brought everything together perfectly with the birth of Jesus – the sweetest gift God could ever give us.

Memory Verse: “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15 (NIV)

Lessons:

Dec 4th: Just the Right Mix

Scripture: Luke 2:1-20, The Birth of Jesus

To make a great Christmas cookie, you need all the right ingredients: like flour, butter, eggs, and of course, sweet, sweet sugar. Two thousand years ago, all of the ingredients were in place to create the first Christmas ever: Mary, Joseph, Bethlehem, angels, shepherds, and a Savior.

Objective: Kids will learn that “God brought everything together to bring us a Savior.”

Dec 11th: Cookie Cutter

Scripture: Matthew 2:1-11, The Visit of the Magi

A baker uses cookie cutters to give their cookies their shapes: stars, stockings, and Christmas trees. The Christmas story really took shape when the Magi came and presented the newborn King with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Objective: Kids will learn that “God sent Jesus to be our King and our Savior.”

Dec 18th: Iced to Perfection

Scripture: John 1:1-14, The Word Became Flesh
The final touch for the Christmas cookie is making sure they are iced to perfection.

SERIES OVERVIEW

God sent his Son to be our Savior. John called Him “the Word.” Jesus is our Savior, the Son of God, God in the flesh, and the perfect Word to represent God’s love for us.

Objective: Kids will learn that “God’s perfect plan for us begins and ends with Jesus.”

We want to give kids the chance to learn more about sports, discover character-building concepts, and have a whole lot of fun. All sorts of drills and practice games will get kids focused on the fundamentals that make athletes great. Plus, MEGA Sports Camp creates a positive and encouraging environment that pumps up their confidence and self-esteem. Between Sports Sessions, coaches lead in songs and help kids experience inspiring sports and Bible stories to help character-building themes take hold in kids’ hearts. Beautiful morning to learn what kind of fruit God wants us to bear.

Theme: Fruit trees are expected to bear fruit and so are we.

"A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?' 'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.' " Luke 13:6-9
