The question God leaves Jonah as the story lingers is the worm that eats away the gourd vine of our unmerited blessings. While we are embarrassed for Jonah’s persistent resistance, the Good News is that God cares even when his people look for reasons not to. And lest the worm destroy our gourds, hearts, may we return to the wonder of Grace. Gather with us for Bible Study at 9 am and Worship at 10:15 am. We have a place for you.

Imagine being angry when seeing Grace, compassion, Love toward others. Either you join in the practice or you drain those words of meaning. One more time the mirror is held to us in Jonah. And rediscover what makes Jonah angry. When God turns out not to be like him. When our projections fail, we are left with the prophet who knows God best. No matter our opinion about those we fear, who may be our enemies, or what we group we consider Them, when God, calls His Church, by His Spirit, to proclaim His word, His way. Put another way, Jonah is about the God who pursues with love and grace, even when His Church sounds a lot like Jonah. Gather with us in the morning for Bible Study at 9 am and Worship at 10:15 am. Jonah's Prayer from a Watery Grave

“For I am persuaded that neither death … will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is the Apostle Paul. But, Jonah experienced that love when he found himself dead in the belly of a big fish. In other words, God was with Jonah when he called him to deliver a word of repentance to Nineveh. And, God was with Jonah when he ran from that calling. God did not leave Jonah and heard his prayer for He was with him. Gather with us for Bible Study at 9 am and Worship at 10:15 am.
