Family can be one of God's greatest gifts - and one of life's greatest challenges. The people closest to us can bring us immense joy, but can also hurt us deeply. In this series, we'll explore how God's grace meets us in the messy realities of family life - from navigating disagreements to learning to forgive. Family grace isn't about having a perfect family. It's about receiving and giving the same grace that God has generously given to us.

In partnership with the office of Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie Norris, Aldersgate is hosting a Senior “Scam-Stopper” workshop on Wednesday, September 9, from 10 AM to noon.

Open to the community, all are invited to learn how to protect yourself and those you love from common scams, including telemarketers, home contractors, and more – all from a panel of experts. Resource providers will also be on site.

University United Methodist Church has asked Aldersgate to join them in collecting food for Haitians crossing into Tijuana after losing their Temporary Protected Status and work permits in the United States.

Haiti is very dangerous, and thus it is anticipated 5000 Haitians will be crossing into Tijuana in the coming months, where they will be temporarily staying in shelters until they find places to live in Tijuana.

Border Ministries works with Centro 32, a special service agency in Tijuana that distributes the food collected.

We can help by collecting peanut butter, red beans, and rice - three of their staples. Our collection will be next Sunday, September 6. It will be a way for us to help in this sad and cruel situation.

Reading-With-a-Mission Book Club - TODAY, Thursday, September 3, 7 PM, Zoom
