🧂💡 Being the Salt and Light of the World

We were blessed to spend the morning with our brothers and sisters at Amigos de Altamira Church, where we had the joy of helping with Sunday School.

📖 The lesson was all about being salt and light!

We talked with the children about how they can let the light of Jesus shine through the way they live each day. By being obedient, lending a helping hand, and putting God’s Word into practice, they can show others what it means to know and follow Him.

🎁🥤 We enjoyed sharing a few little prizes and some juice with the children, too!

We’re so thankful the Lord gave us this opportunity to serve alongside our church family, encourage these precious children in their walk with Him, and remind them that even the smallest acts of kindness can shine the love of Jesus.

May the Lord help each of us shine His light wherever He places us! ❤️🙏

❤️ Bible Study in Pitahaya: A Father Who Welcomes Us Home

Saturday , we gathered with the children in Pitahaya for our weekly Bible study. Raúl opened our time together in prayer, and Annie shared the lesson about the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

📖 The lesson: God is a loving Father.

Through this beautiful story, the children learned that God loves us even when we make mistakes. Just like the father in the parable welcomed his son home with open arms, our Heavenly Father is always ready to receive us with love when we turn back to Him.

We were also happy to introduce Morgan and Brandon to the children!

🍪🥤 After our Bible lesson, we shared cookies and juice, followed by a fun time with the children. We had one piñata for the girls and another for the boys! Morgan and Brandon even joined in the fun by helping us fill the piñatas with candy. 🎉

We thank God for these precious opportunities to share His Word, build relationships, and remind our children that they are deeply loved by their Heavenly Father.

God is always faithful to provide. He has been faithful for the last 14 years of ministry. Today, there was a cool story a lady walked for miles to get her Lexapro filled, the clinic was out and Morgan had extra money with her from a donation and was able to get her a 3 month supply. Gran Jornada médica gratuita con atención de personal médico de Estados Unidos y de Guatemala.
El viernes 16 estaremos en El Talco, Tisipe, Camotán.
El sábado 17 estaremos en La Palmilla, Jocotán.
El domingo 18 en Centro, Marimba, Camotán.
Pueden asistir de comunidades cercanas al centro de convergencia de la comunidad que visitaremos. Atenderemos a las primeras 200 personas que asistan. Dejaremos de dar tickets al medio día. La atención y los medicamentos son totalmente gratuitos.

Medical Outreach Follow-Up and Next Steps

This was the first time a complete medical team from Chiquimula has come together to serve our community in this way, and we are deeply grateful to God for the opportunity. We pray that they will be able to return in the future and that other healthcare professionals will be inspired to join them in serving our community.

Follow-Up Care

On October 23, we will be transporting four patients to Dr. Christian Loyo’s clinic, where he has generously offered to perform their ultrasounds.

We are also following up with Dr. Suchini regarding the minor surgical procedures that she offered to perform at Ciudad de Refugio. We agreed to help obtain the necessary suturing and minor-procedure supplies so that she can return and provide this follow-up care.

Supplies Needed

We are currently working on obtaining the following:

1. Three suture instrument sets, each containing at least:

- Needle holder
- Surgical scissors
- Forceps with and without teeth
- Scalpel handle

2. Nylon suture, 5-0 or 6-0

3. Vicryl suture, 4-0

4. Hibitane

5. Sterile gauze

6. Lidocaine

7. No. 11 scalpel blades

8. Hydrogen peroxide

9. Surgical soap

10. Sterile water or saline solution

We are grateful that this outreach is not ending with the event itself. The relationships formed and the follow-up care being arranged are opening the door for continued medical support for people in our community. We pray that God will continue to guide every step and provide what is needed.
