It’s almost time for the Annual EMBC Church Picnic 🎉

THIS Sunday, September 13 at 2:00 pm
We will be at a NEW location this year‼️

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided.
Bring your favorite side, dessert, or 2-liter to share.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT RECAP 📝

Last night Davey and I held down the fort while Phil & Morgan are away. In true Mrs Lauren fashion we wore glow necklaces while I brought a message about the light we have in Jesus.

HERE ARE 3 WAYS JESUS IS THE LIGHT:
📌JESUS IS THE LIGHT (John 8:12) & Jesus calls us to be a light -> Jesus wants us to shine the light he has placed in us to bring honor & glory to Him (Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭16‬, Acts 13:47).

📌JESUS IS THE LAMP (Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭105‬) -> The path may be dark & scary, but if we trust God & his plans we will be ok. Jesus only wants us to see there here and now, to focus solely on Him & his plans for us. He will never lead us astray.

📌JESUS IS THE LIGHTHOUSE (Psalm‬ ‭27‬:‭1‬) -> At EMBC we use the logo of the lighthouse. It stands as a reminder of our safest place, where we can be closest to God.

YOUTH CHALLENGE (& a challenge for all of us) -> Let Jesus be the light that guides your steps while you are a light to others‼️

Thank you to EMBC College student Davis Harbison for stepping up and leading some of our EMBC Youth students in a Bible study this morning. We heard he brought a short, fire message to them about sin & we are very proud of him. ❤️

One thing about our youth students - they love to be able to get together at church but also in life as well.

Wednesday Night Recap 📝

Last night we discussed The Parable of the Two Sons in Matthew 21. The father asked his 2 sons to do something. Though the 1st son initially said no, he changed his mind and did as he was asked. The 2nd son agreed to the task but never went. In the end the 1st son was the one who got the prize.

Your actions will ultimately prove if you are obedient to God or not.
No one ever said you couldn’t change your mind. You’re allowed to change your mind, but in the end what you do is ultimately what shows your heart.

Renewing your heart leads to renewing your mind.
What you consume will influence your mind.
The word of God convicts us. When we practice it and invest in it, then we become it.

Don’t just go through the motions, check yourself and where you stand with God.
You don’t want to be someone who looks like they walk the walk but internally you reject him.
