Strength Through The Storm”


Isaiah 43:2 NIV

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

To remind believers that storms are not sent to destroy them but to develop them, and that God’s strength is revealed most powerfully in seasons of pressure, pain, and uncertainty. This message calls the hearer to stand firm in faith, trust God’s presence in every trial, and rely on His sustaining power until the storm passes—knowing that what surrounds them cannot overcome what God has placed within them.

Slipping Happens When We Become Comfortable

1 Corinthians 10:12 (NIV)
“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!”

One of the greatest dangers to the believer is not persecution—it’s complacency. Slipping happens when we become so comfortable with where we are that we stop pursuing where God is taking us. Comfort can make us careless, and carelessness can make us vulnerable.”

“The enemy doesn’t always attack when you’re struggling; sometimes he waits until you’re comfortable. The moment you stop watching, stop praying, and stop growing is the moment you become susceptible to slipping. Stay hungry for God, stay alert in the Spirit, and don’t let comfort become your downfall.”

That’s why the Holy Spirit is sounding an alarm to the Church:

Watch your heart.
Guard your devotion.
Protect your assignment.
Don’t get comfortable where God called you to be committed.

Because in this season, God is looking for people who will remain faithful when others are drifting, steadfast when others are wavering, and watchful when others are sleeping.

Today, the message is clear:

Beware of the spirit of betrayal, defection, and departure.
Don’t get caught slipping.

For what you fail to guard today may become what you grieve tomorrow, but what you protect in prayer, obedience, and faithfulness will position you for everything God has ordained for your future.

When you stop watching, you start slipping.
When you start slipping, betrayal, defection, and departure become possible.

Staying Ready Keeps You From Slipping

1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) – “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

“You don’t stay ready because trouble is coming—you stay ready because you don’t know when the test will come. What catches others off guard won’t catch you when you live prepared. Staying ready today prevents slipping tomorrow.”

“David stayed ready in the pasture before he ever faced Goliath. Joseph stayed ready in the prison before he entered the palace. Preparation in private produces victory in public. Those who stay ready don’t have to get ready.”
