Grace Presbyterian Church

Grace Presbyterian Church Grace embraces a progressive approach to Christianity.

At Grace, progressive implies: an expansive view of God/scripture, the celebration of diversity, and a commitment to justice, compassion, mercy, activism, and inclusion. Grace Presbyterian seeks to "draw the circle wide," inviting all to join us around the table as we worship, serve, study and fellowship together. We seek together to "build a house where love can dwell!"

“Progressive Christianit

y is an open, intelligent, and collaborative approach to the Christian tradition and the life and teachings of Jesus that creates a pathway into an authentic and relevant religious experience.” (progressivechristianity.org)
At Grace, being “progressive” implies:

· An expansive understanding of God and scripture

· A celebration of human diversity

· A strong emphasis on social justice and care for the poor and oppressed

· An emphasis on the values of compassion, justice, mercy and tolerance, often through political activism

Dear Friends,

I hope you all are doing well. This Sunday our youth will discuss what 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 means for us as a church today.
In this passage, Paul the Apostle explains that the church is like one body with many parts. Just as a human body has different parts with different purposes, every believer has unique gifts, talents, and roles that work together for God’s purpose. No part of the body is more important than another.
Paul reminds us that we should not compare ourselves to others or believe we are less important because our gifts are different. Whether someone teaches, serves, encourages, sings, organizes, prays, welcomes visitors, or helps behind the scenes, every act of service strengthens the body of Christ.
In a world that often encourages competition and division, God calls the church to live in unity. When one person hurts, the whole church should respond with compassion. When one person succeeds, we should celebrate together.
As we continue growing together, may we remember that the church is strongest when every member is connected, valued, and serving with love.
With love and encouragement,
Heather Rafferty
Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries
