Learn more about us and Stay engaged with us here. Greek life at UA holds tremendous power, and we believe this power can, and will, be used for good. Greek UNITE is a team of about 25 Greek students just like you, all representing different houses from the majority of both fraternity and sorority chapters across campus. The vision for Unite surfaced as a group of Christians in the Greek community

saw a need & came together with the hope to see more light than darkness in the Greek community. The goal from the beginning was 1.) to equip Christians with tools & fellowship they need to live out their faith in their house, and 2.) to minimize the stigmas of exclusivity, unhealthy lifestyle, and shallow relationship within Greek life at Alabama. Our #1 pillar is the belief that the life and gospel of Jesus is the answer to each of our individual longings; It is also the answer to unity between our chapters, and unity between churches/campus ministries. For this reason we describe Unite as a ministry initiative, but it is just as much a social initiative to counteract a flawed system. We so desire to reimagine what building relationships and being social can look like for the Greek community. Even to the extent of redefining the triggering associations with language like "swaps", "band room", "band parties", "philanthropy"- you get the point. As an organization we seek to "bridge the gap" a few different ways:

1. We provide opportunities for greek students to create meaningful connections outside of partying (...but we definitely have parties)
2. We connect greek students to campus ministries and churches in Tuscaloosa.
3. We Connect and Disciple Christians from different fraternities/sororities together to be united in heart, mind, mission and fellowship.
4. We'd like to normalize the Christian/non-Christian dialogue in the greek community. Our purpose is to create space to love one another better, as a means to strategically love and care for the Greek system. By the gospel going out and taking root in Greek life, we believe true Life will be taking root in the highly esteemed leaders and influencers in all spheres at UA, reaching all the way to the corners of our campus.

Leadership Spotlight #2: Elise Luoma! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

She is a senior from Franklin, TN and is a Gamma Phi Beta here at UA! Her favorite hobby is golfing!

She has been involved in Unite in the past as Head Leader of Sororities, Social Media Director and is currently our Senior Consultant.

When asked why she loves Unite, she said, “Unite is more than a ministry – it is a place filled with community, intent and worship. Its mission to ‘appeal to, inspire and challenge the Greek community - and the Church - towards unity’ is something I wanted to be a part of and to cultivate. Being a Christian in the largest Greek community of the country can come with challenges. I was happy to join a group of other Greeks who wanted to strengthen their faith, gather, and reach both inward and outward. “

When asked how Unite has contributed to her college experience, she said, “From the moment I attended my first Supper Club, I knew Unite was something special. It was humbling to see the Greek community really unite (hence the name) and meet students from other sororities and fraternities than their own. My experience on the leadership team is a highlight of my college career because of the unique group of people I have become close with and being able to serve to the community and beyond. I feel I have a firmer foundation in my faith because of Unite and am excited to stay involved in a ministry and the Church post-graduation.”

She says she is excited for what’s coming up within Unite! “From Unite’s founding to the first Supper Club, it has grown throughout the Greek community and on campus. Despite a few bumps in the road with the pandemic, Unite has sustained itself through these thick and thin times. This shows how strong of a community it has and I know its growth is endless. I am looking forward to seeing how Unite will continue to grow, someday have a leadership team member from each house and the future relationships that will form. I am blessed to have made an impact and am looking forward to coming to another Supper Club someday!”
