If you were in the room Sunday, you felt the weight of this moment. If you missed it — here is your first bite. This week's Sunday Recap is breaking down the message Fulfilling Our Purpose: The Call of the Church piece by piece so you can carry it with you all week long.

📖 SUNDAY RECAP | Love Fellowship Church
𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲: The Call of the Church
Daysman David Alan Brock | Matthew 28:19-20 · Acts 1:8 · Luke 4:18-19

🔔 THE ALARM IS SOUNDING
The Church has been asleep — but the Spirit is waking her up.
We are living in the most critical hour the Church has ever faced. Hell is not taking a break, the enemy is not on vacation, and sin does not sleep — so the Church CANNOT afford to coast.
Jesus did not whisper the Great Commission. He stood on that Galilean hillside — resurrected, victorious, still bearing the marks of the cross — and He COMMANDED His Church:
GO. Not "if you feel like it." Not "when it's comfortable." GO.
──────────────────────────────
📖 THIS SUNDAY'S TEXT
Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV):
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Acts 1:8 (NKJV):
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
──────────────────────────────
🔑 CENTRAL TRUTH
The Church is not a building where saved people hide — it is a deployed army through which the Holy Spirit reaches the lost, heals the broken, and confronts every injustice with the power of the living God.
This is not a denominational assignment. This is a KINGDOM MANDATE for every blood-washed, Spirit-filled believer who calls Jesus Lord.
Say it right now: "I am called!"
──────────────────────────────
✅ APPLY IT THIS WEEK
1. Ask yourself honestly: Am I coasting — or am I going? Where has comfort replaced obedience?
2. Write down one name — one person who needs the Gospel. Commit to intentional contact with them this week.
3. Pray Acts 1:8 daily. Ask the Holy Spirit for fresh power to be a witness in your own Jerusalem.
─────────────────────────────
More of this message coming all week in the Sunday Recap. Share this with someone who needs to hear it. 🔥

Yesterday as may of you may know by now the Supreme Court made a decision that affects every Black, Latino, and minority community in America.

In a 6-3 ruling, conservative justices rolled back protections that have stood since the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The same court that ended affirmative action in higher education three years ago just went further — and the impact will go deeper.

Here’s what’s actually happening. Those in power can now redraw district lines to split strong communities of voters apart. Not to compete fairly — but to guarantee outcomes. You don’t have to silence a people if you can simply redraw the lines around them.

Black Americans are roughly 11–12% of Congress today. That representation exists because of Voting Rights protections. This ruling puts all of it on the table for possible reduction or elimination.

This is not complicated. This is all about power. Whose voice is heard. Whose voice gets watered down. Whose community gets carved up quietly while the cameras aren’t watching.

What our forefathers bled for, prayed for, and marched for is being dismantled — not in the streets, but in courtrooms, by judicial decree.

I believe the Church cannot afford to be silent. Our faith leaders, congregations, and communities must rise — organized, educated, and mobilized.

This is our moment to stand together as a unified people!

Here is a quick recap:
The Decision: In a 6-3 ruling on April 29, 2026, the Supreme Court struck down a Louisiana congressional map that created a second majority-Black district.

Impact: The conservative majority deemed the map an unconstitutional racial gerrymander, weakening key protections under the Voting Rights Act.

Context: This decision makes it harder to challenge voting maps as discriminatory and could lead to major shifts in political power, particularly in the South, ahead of the 2026 elections.

Something is missing in too many of our churches. Congregations gather faithfully, sermons are preached with passion, hymns are sung with devotion — yet the sick remain sick, the bound remain bound, and the lost remain lost. The reason is not a lack of sincerity. In far too many cases, it is a stunning lack of awareness of what Christ has already given His people.

Jesus Christ did not leave behind a powerless church when He ascended. He left behind a commissioned, authorized, Spirit-filled body of believers armed with delegated Kingdom authority to represent Him on this earth. The tragedy is not that this authority was taken back. It is that it was forgotten.

Join me in person tonight at 7:15PM at Love Fellowship Church of Pittsburgh as we break into our next bible study entitled "Understanding The Believer's Authority."
