Price for cutting and wrapping is $0.95 per pound hanging weight plus an additional $0.95 per pound for smoking (ham, bacon, sausage) which you can chose not to have things smoked or to only have some smoked it’s up to you.
There is a non-refundable deposit that will be applied to purchase price. Deposit is $65 for a 1/2 or $130 for a whole.
You will need to call in your cutting and wrapping preferences that week. If this is something you have never done before our butcher is really good about helping you decide what cuts, thickness, bone in or out, etc. We are also available for questions.
The pig being butchered is a mix of Tamworth, Mangalitsa and Berkshire with the Tamworth being the greatest percentage at 3/4%. These are all heritage breeds of pigs with great meat characteristics including high levels of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, darker meat and better marbling which make it better tasting and healthier.
Our pigs are raised on pasture and eat a mix of grass, fruits, vegetables, milk and small quantities of grain only as needed. We don’t give shots or antibiotics and do not use w**d or pest killers or commercial fertilizer on the pigs pasture or the corn, pumpkins or the apple trees we get apples from to feed. We are NOT organic but we do employ as many practices as possible that are sustainable and that limit chemicals on our property.
Our goal is to raise happy healthy pigs that have room to roam and root and live happily.
We welcome questions. If interested please contact us by messenger or phone.
