Just a reminder that we will be having a meeting at LAHS at 6pm Monday the 12th. If you are a lot owner please try to attend.

Notices were mailed to all living lot owners and any descendants of previous lot owners whose addresses we had from the last mailing in 2011.

We will be having a short cemetery association meeting at the home of Marilyn Shaw on Sunday December 3rd at 3pm. All are welcome to attend.

Brush removal and chipping is mostly completed. Today’s work was a much needed culvert replacement. There are still 4-5 large rotting trees that need to be removed.

If you would like to donate towards the culvert replacement or tree removal, donations can be mailed to Maple Grove Cemetery Association C/O Marilyn Shaw 437 North Parish Rd Turner ME 04282.

In a few weeks there will be small brush and leaves pick up needed. We hope to leave some large contractor bags for any volunteers who would like to help to get it cleaned up before winter. Thank you all for your support to keep our cemetery looking beautiful.

Beginning today, if you are visiting your loved ones you may see some piles of brush and/or trees down. Rest assured they will be removed and chipped prior to winter. Many of the oldest grave markers have been overcome with brush and the work is delicate and slow but volunteers will be working to bring the cemetery back to its former beauty. If you would like to help, please send a private message and we will also do our best to post in advance of the next work day💕

We will be organizing a clean-up day or two on a weekend in the near future. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help with brush cutting and clearing. Our beautiful cemetery has become a bit overgrown in the past few years making it difficult for our landscape company to mow safely. We currently have the cemetery mowed three times per season, for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.

Once it is trimmed back the committee should be able to maintain it going forward. If you know of any students looking for service projects, including Eagle Scouts please share and ask them to message us. We need some stones cleaned and have several that have fallen over and need to be reset. We will also be getting an estimate to remove a few trees that are rotten and losing limbs. If anyone is able to contribute towards the tree removal project, please private message us. Please comment if you are willing to help for a few hours with brush clean up. Dates will be announced soon. Many hands makes light work. 💕
