Tupelo Baptist Church Tupelo Baptist Church Articles Of Faith

1. In this work God operates in a sovereign manner without the use of the gospel of any other external means.
6.

We believe in one true and living God: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that these Three are One and are harmoniously equal in infinite power, wisdom, justice, holiness, mercy, love and truth.
2. We believe that God created man good, able to stand but liable to fall, and that man fell from this pure estate and brought and that man, being utterly depraved, has no ability nor desire to deliver hims

elf from this condition.
3. We believe that God chose a people unto salvation or eternal life and that this choice was eternal, particular, and unconditional.
4. We believe that God was in Christ and that by the sacrifice of Jesus, all whom God chose unto salvation where forever redeemed from the curse of the law and made righteous in Him.
5. We believe that all who were redeemed by the Son will in time be Effectually Called by the Holy Spirt (Born Again), and made partakers of the divine nature. We believe that all who are regenerated (Effectually Called) will be finally saved. Not one can be finally lost.
7. We believe that the bodies of all men will be resurrected from the grave and that the joys of the righteous will be everlasting.
8. We believe that all who are called of God are under obligation to do good works, and that in keeping of His Commandments there is a great reward.
9. We believe that Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances of the Church and that believers are the only proper subjects for baptism and that immersion in the only mode, and that none except those who have been regularly baptized are to be admitted in Communion Service; and that the washing of the saints' feet is an example of love and humility which should be practiced by the members of the Church.
10. We believe that the Church is the only ecclesiastical authority on earth, subject unto God alone for all her acts, and that her form of government is congregational, each member having an equal voice in all of her acts.
11. We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (in English, the King James translation) to be the inspired word of God, and that they alone are to govern God's people both in faith and practice.
