As you know today was Danny's last day preaching at Plad Baptist. Danny has preached here for the last 4 years, and God is leading him elsewhere. As a church we are very thankful for the leadership Danny has brought to church and all the years of service to our church family. He left us with a beautiful message today and smiles.

Going forward we have asked Terry Gentry Sr. to fill in for a few Sundays until we can find an interim or new Pastor.

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday and we invite everyone to come attend, learn and fellowship with us!

services start at 11 or you can also show up a little early and drink coffee with us!

We know God has a plan for us all!

"For I know the plans I have for you. "Declares the Lord." plans to give you hope and future." - Jeremiah 29:11

Devotional Passage - Luke 9:18- 26
Read the Bible through - Deuteronomy 12-14; Mark 9:14-29

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. - Luke 9:24

In much of my life, the goal is to win. Win the game. Win the job. Win the approval of others. Nobody wants to be labeled a loser. Jesus turns the world's logic upside: "Whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it."
Jesus wasn't interested in building a fan base. Jesus was calling followers to model the ways of his kingdom. After Peter confessed Jesus was the Christ, the lord explained that as the Christ he would suffer, be rejected, die, and then rise again. Jesus made it clear that to follow him meant walking that same road of self-denial.
To the world this looks like losing. Giving up your rights? Serving others? Dying to self? That doesn't sound like a win. But Jesus says the opposite the ones who try to win on their own terms will lose everything. The ones who lay it all down for his sake are victors.
Gaining God's kingdom isn't about being first, fastest, or famous.
It's faithful surrender. Ultimately, those who lose their lives for Christ gain everything that truly matters.

Father, help me stop chasing worldly winds. Show me that I find true life when I lose my life for you.

Good Ground
Devotional Passage - Luke 8:4-15
Read the Bible Through - Deuteronomy 7-9; Mark 8:27-38

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
-Luke 8:15

Not all soil is created equal: some is rocky, some is shallow, and some downright hard. But good soil allows for good growth. Jesus knew His audience could relate to farming, so He told parable in which the seed stayed the same, but the condition of the soil made all the difference.
According to Jesus, good ground represents a heart that is honest, willing and ready to receive God's word. But notice: Fruit doesn't come instantly. Verse 15 reminds us that fruit comes "with patience". Patience is not a word we often want to hear, but its's necessary for spiritual growth.
A good heart hears God's Word and keeps Gods Word. A good heart endures hardship. It keeps believing. It refuses to quit. A good heart produces the kind of faith that doesn't fizzle out when life gets tough. It digs in deeper.
Christians should desire fruitful lives. But fruit doesn't appear because we're rooted in God's truth and patient through the process, allowing His spirit to work in us. The question is not whether God is speaking. The question is: Is your heart good ground?

Father, prepare my heart to be a good ground. Let your Word take root in me and produce lasting fruit.

Marvelous Faith
Devotional Passage - Luke 7:1-10
Read the Bible Through - Deuteronomy 5-6: Mark 8:11-26

When Jess heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no not in Israel.
-Luke 7:9

The word marvel is used twice in Scripture to describe Jesus' reaction. Luke 7 is one of those occasions. Jesus marveled at a soldier's faith. A Roman centurion, a Gentile out-sider, sent word to Jesus to heal his servant. But he didn't ask Jesus to touch his servant or stand in his presence. He believed Christ's word was enough. He understood that Jesus held true divine authority. The centurion's confidence in Jesus didn't come from ritual or religion but from a raw recognition of who Jesus is. that kind of faith is rare. And when Jesus heard it, He stopped in his tracks.

What would it take for Jesus to marvel at your faith? It wouldn't be busyness, perfection, or belief, but uncomplicated, unhindered trust in His power and His word. Sometimes, we treat faith like a performance. But genuine faith is quite confidence in God's character and power.

The centurion didn't have all the proper credentials, but he had the right kind of faith. It moved Jesus' heart, and it till does today.

Father, help me have marvelous faith that moves You. May I trust Your word more than my own understanding.

Faith That Won't Give Up

Devotional Passage - Luke 5:17-26
Read the Bible Through - Deuteronomy 1-2; Mark 7:24-37

And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
-Luke 5:19

Have you ever been stuck in traffic with some where important to be? The clock ticks, the brake lights glow, and the tension rises. Now imagine that urgency not for yourself- for someone else. That's the kind of desperation these four friends felt. Their friend was paralyzed, and Jesus was his only hope. But the crowd was thick. The door was blocked. So, they climbed to the roof, ripped through it, and lowered him down right in front of Jesus.

This verse reveals a faith that won't quit. These men didn't let the crowd stop them. They didn't settle for standing outside. They didn't say, "Maybe next time." Their friend mattered too much, and they believed deeply in what Jesus could do. So, they made room where there was no room.
Sometimes the most significant breakthroughs come when we're willing to do the unexpected for someone else's healing. Who do you know that needs to get to Jesus, and what are you willing to do to get them there?

Father, give me the kind of faith that won't give up. I want to bring someone into Your presence today.
