In Part 5 of our In Tulsa As It Is In Heaven series, Pastor Matt closed things out in Revelation 21 with a picture of eternity that may not match the one you grew up with. God's plan was never to evacuate us from this world. The whole arc of scripture is God moving toward us, and it ends with heaven coming down. He isn't scrapping creation and starting over. He is making all things new. Which means our work, our cities, and our lives here carry real weight. The church gets to be a preview of that coming kingdom. Spiritual formation is not preparation for evacuation. It is preparation for participation.

In Part 4 of our In Tulsa As It Is In Heaven series, Pastor Matt walked us through Matthew 25 and one of the more challenging passages in scripture. When Jesus describes the final judgment, he separates people based on how they treated the hungry, the sick, the stranger, and the imprisoned. God doesn't simply care about the vulnerable. He is mysteriously present within them. We were challenged to stop seeing people as categories or problems to solve and start seeing them as image bearers. As Dallas Willard put it, the first act of love is attention. Heaven comes to Tulsa when we move toward the margins to meet the people already there.

In Part 3 of our In Tulsa As It Is In Heaven series, Pastor Rachel walked us through a vision of work that dismantles the divide between the sacred and the secular. Work is not a result of the fall. It existed before sin entered the story because we were made in the image of a God who works. Every vocation is a calling, and every workplace is a place where the kingdom can break in. The question is not whether our work is shaping the world. It already is. The question is which direction it is moving and whether we have the kingdom imagination to see it differently.
