This Memorial Day, our community gathered at Memorial Park Cemetery to honor and remember the brave men and women who sacrificed for our country. The ceremony included moving tributes, military honors, and heartfelt reflections reminding us of the true meaning of Memorial Day and the lasting impact of those who served. We also recognize the sacrifices made by veterans and military families every day, including the invisible battles many continue to face long after service.

Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony and helped make this a meaningful day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. A special thank you to our Memorial Park staff for helping organize and run the event, as well as to our speakers and participants who shared their time, stories, and support with our community.

Introducing Our Introductory Speaker — Lieutenant Commander Lori A. Campbell, U.S. Navy (Ret.)

We are deeply honored to welcome Lieutenant Commander Lori A. Campbell as our Introductory Speaker for the Memorial Day Ceremony 2026.

A distinguished naval officer, healthcare leader, and community engagement executive, Lt. Commander Campbell brings more than 25 years of active-duty service, plus over four years as an enlisted Hospital Corpsman, to a life truly defined by service to others.

Commissioned through the Hampton Roads Naval ROTC, she served in critical operational, medical, and training commands across the globe, from San Diego to Pearl Harbor. She was among the women selected for duty aboard the USS Willamette during the historic Women at Sea transition period, serving at the forefront of a Navy that was beginning to evolve.

A graduate of Hampton University, a Master's-prepared Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Ph.D. candidate in Organizational Psychology, she has also completed executive education at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Yale University School of Management.

Today, her mission continues right here in Tulsa. As Vice President of Community Engagement for Family & Children's Services, she works tirelessly to expand access to mental health care and strengthen our community. She proudly serves on the Executive Board of American Legion Post 1 and has been selected as its next Second Vice Commander.

She led in uniform. She leads in the community. She stands for the very best of service, then, now, and always.

Join us on Monday, May 25 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery to hear her story.
