𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 34:1
“I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

“𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐃𝐨 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮”

What a powerful and timely word delivered by Rev. Percy Butler today at Gethsemane!

This message reminded us that 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨—𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞. It’s not conditional. It’s continual.

🔹 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧.
When life tries to weigh you down, praise lifts you up. When the enemy attacks, praise pushes back.

🔹 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 (3) 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞:

• 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐥– to boast, celebrate, even be clamorously foolish before God

•𝐘𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐡– to worship with extended hands in surrender and gratitude

•𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫– to praise through music and instruments

All forms point to one truth: 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐲.

🔹 The 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐬 is a collection of songs—reminding us that praise has always been God’s language with His people.

🔹 “𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲” 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲—𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭.
Praise shouldn’t just live in your heart—it must come out of your mouth.
For every breath you take, that’s how much praise God deserves!

🔹 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝.
When you recognize His worth, your response becomes consistent worship.

Because praise is not optional—it’s a command. We are called to praise Him now and forever.

🔹 Look at Paul and Silas in prison:
At midnight, in chains, in a dark prison—they didn’t complain… they 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝. And suddenly, the foundations shook. Doors opened. Chains broke—not just for them, but for everyone around them!

That’s the power of your praise.
When you shift your focus from your problems to your God, things begin to break, shift, and clear up.

When you get out of self and start praising God, you step into His presence—and in His presence, everything changes.

So don’t wait for things to get better—𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐦 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞.
In the middle of it. In spite of it. Through it all!

Because when your praise goes up, chains are broken.

When your praise gets louder, your breakthrough gets closer.

Tell yourself: 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐨… 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐦.
And if I can get next to Him, I know everything I need is already there. 🙌

👉 So take a moment and give God a praise right now!

𝐄𝐱𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐬 4:1–5

“𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐬”

Rev. Ezell reminded Gethsemane today that we are often carrying things God never intended for us to hold.

He challenged us to examine our lives and recognize that:
𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐨…𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧.

In this text, Moses had already been called…but he was still making excuses.

“Lord, what if they don’t believe me?”

And God didn’t give Moses anything new. He asked him a question:

“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝?”

Moses said, “A staff.”

It might have been “Just a staff”…but in the hands of God, it was never “just” anything.

𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮—We keep asking God for more, but God is saying: use what you already have.

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭—God told Moses to throw it down.

As long as Moses held it, the staff stayed ordinary.

The moment he let it go…it turned into something he couldn’t control.

When Moses saw the staff turn into a serpent…he ran.

We were reminded that that’s what happens when you don’t release something when God tells you to.

What you refuse to surrender…will eventually turn into something you’re afraid of.

Rev. Ezell challenged us by asking the question: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨?
⭐️Your pride?
⭐️Your job?
⭐️Your degrees?

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞…𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧?

💡Remember:
𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝…𝐇𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝.

But—qualification starts with obedience so:

👉 Throw it down.
👉 Let it go.
👉 Trust God with it.

Because what you’re trying to carry… God already has.

🙌 Thank you Rev. Ezell for that powerful and on time message!

We were truly blessed yesterday as Pastor Terry Hughes of Greater Mt. Carmel brought the Word during our Pastor’s 1st Anniversary Celebration.

Preaching from Jeremiah 3:15, Pastor Hughes reminded us of God’s promise:

“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
