This Sunday, May 31, at First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, we continue our summer sermon series, The Story of Jesus, exploring the life and ministry of Christ through beloved stories from Scripture as told in The Jesus Storybook Bible. Each week, we rediscover how every story points to Jesus and reveals His love, power and purpose.

In traditional worship, guest pastor Rev. Wally Johnson will preach “Simple Faith,” while Rev. James Estes will preach “How to Pray” in contemporary and international worship. Whether you're a longtime member, returning after some time away, or visiting for the first time, you are warmly welcome.

This Sunday, May 24 at First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, giving thanks for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. As we continue our summer sermon series, “The Story of Jesus,” we are reminded that the same Spirit who empowered the early believers still leads, strengthens and guides us today.

With joy and gratitude, First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa has called Rev. Cameron Beaty as the next Senior Pastor and Head of Staff.

Festival Sunday on May 17, 2026 was a joyful and memorable day in the life of First Church Tulsa as the congregation gathered to welcome Rev. Beaty, hear him preach for the first time and later vote to approve him as Senior Pastor.

The day also marked the culmination of months of prayer, discernment and tireless work by the Pastor Nominating Committee, whose faithful dedication and wisdom in seeking the church’s next pastor will have a lasting impact on the future of First Church Tulsa.

One of the most memorable moments of the morning came before worship even began. As Rev. Beaty entered the Sanctuary, the congregation spontaneously rose in applause and joyful cheers, warmly welcoming Cameron and his family before a single word had been spoken.

The Sanctuary was filled with praise, hope and excitement as traditional, contemporary and international worship came together in one unified service. Rev. Beaty preached a sermon titled “Jesus Calms the Storm,” reminding us that Jesus is all-powerful, we are not, and His power is for the powerless.

Following worship, the congregation overwhelmingly voted in favor of approving Rev. Beaty as Senior Pastor, and the Sanctuary again filled with applause and celebration as Cameron and Emily Beaty returned to greet the congregation.

We are deeply thankful for God’s guidance throughout this process and ask for continued prayers for the Beaty family and for First Church Tulsa as we prepare to welcome them to Tulsa later this summer.

Note: Rev. Beaty’s call was also approved by the Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry and the full Presbytery.
