Last week, the American History and Heritage Foundation filed a long-expected application with the Arkansas Secretary of State's office to erect a privately funded monument of the Ten Commandments on the Capitol grounds. A few days later, the sulfurous provocateurs at The Satanic Temple filed their own application to place a statue of Baphomet — a "goat-headed, angel-winged, androgynous creature," as described in the filing — at the Capitol as well.

The group's application quotes Article 2 of the state Constitution to make its point: "No preference shall ever be given, by law, to any religious establishment, denomination or mode of worship, above any other."

VIDEO: The Satanic Temple (TST) spokesperson, Lucien Greaves debates Moises Esteves of the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) on the topic of after-school clubs in public schools. In 2016, The Satanic Temple announced they are launching “After School Satan Clubs” in school districts where the CEF has established “Good News Clubs.” While Good News Clubs focus on authoritarian conditioning and training children to evangelize to other children, bringing them into a bizarre, backward, isolationist fundamentalist way of superstitious thinking, the After School Satan Clubs focus on free, rational inquiry and scientific thinking. When faced with this distinction, Moises Esteves can do nothing better than lie about The Satanic Temple, express his strange, petty fear of Lucien Greaves’ clothing (!?) and spout unreliable anecdotes related to the supposed values of Good News Clubs. Of course, Lucien’s audio is silenced as he attempts to correct the flagrant ignorance.
