Our final day was one for the memories! We started our day with joining the community for a magic show. We then hosted the community of Albuquerque for a Father’s Day celebration. We ate dinner, played games and enjoyed fellowship with people in the area. We then had a classic Pickled Egg and Pickled Bologna eating competition, that ended exactly how you expected. We then had our final worship of the week and we experienced that outside in God’s creation, we heard senior wisdom from our very own Bailey Johnson. Then we heard from Blake that there is no greater thing we can do with our lives than to lead somebody to Jesus. We talked about the four friends lowering their paralyzed friend on the mat, and that even through the barriers they knew that it was worth it because Jesus was the result. Blake encouraged us that we need to lead our friends to Jesus regardless of the pushback because there is no greater pursuit in our life. We all made it back safely this evening and we are all ready for a good nights sleep!

Yesterday we started our morning off by visiting the local laundromat to pay for people’s laundry and to cover them in prayer. While some of group did that, others in the group covered the cars in the surrounding parking lot and the washers in prayer for those who will use them. We then spent the afternoon at the Navajo reservation where we played games, ate lunch, and some of us got to worship and learn “Jesus Loves Me” in Navajo! Then we ended our evening by visiting the food truck plaza to taste some local cuisine and visited Old Town Albuquerque to grab some souvenirs. We wrapped up the night with powerful worship and Blake challenging us on our fear of evangelism. Asking them two questions when it came to evangelism “What is the worst that could happen?” And “What is the best thing that could happen?”. Reminding us that courage looks like pushing past the fear when the outcome is worth it. We are pumped for our last day!

Our students are working HARD! They have been grinding away to organize their clothing donation room and to paint a new housing project at our host site. I have been amazed at their dedication and commitment to their worksite and projects. Of course they were rewarded for their hard work with an ice cold Sonic drink. Blake talked about that each of us are placed in our specific schools, teams, classes, etc. on purpose. That God has placed us in our mission field back in Tulsa and it doesn’t take us traveling to Albuquerque to spread the word of God, that we are called to be in mission every day. The presence of the Holy Spirit was obvious in our evening worship. Today we get to do laundromat evangelism and serve our local community at the Navajo reservation, please continue to pray for us!

Day 3 in Albuquerque was the best so far! We kicked off our worksites today as we helped serve our host site on few projects around the campus. Including repainting one of their housing buildings, organizing their clothing donation room, cleaning out their kitchen pantry and more! We stayed plenty hydrated and used lots of sunscreen, and of course had to finish off a hard days work with a sweet treat. After some competitive basketball games and killball, we closed off our night with Blake telling us the power of invitation and encouraged simple faithfulness in the pursuit of our “one”. We are excited for our second work day!

We started our morning off with a wonderful church service, followed by a trip to the Ice Caves and Bandera Volcano. The ice caves stay at 31 degrees even in the dead heat of the summer! We hiked 1.7 miles up to the volcano and through to the ice caves. We capped our night with powerful worship and focused on our theme for the week “Who’s your one?”. We are pumped up to start our work today and see what the Lord has for us!

A successful day one is in the books! After Pastor Todd prayed over us we embarked on our long trek and made it safely to Albuquerque around 7:30 last night. We received a tour of our site, and capped our night off with a meaningful night of worship. We are pumped up for church this morning and our trip to the ice caves this afternoon!
