Our Story

Wesley Chapel is a historic church. Formed in 1910 and burned down in the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot, Wesley Chapel was rebuilt with the help of people all over this community.

Today, Wesley Chapel specializes in showing God's abounding love to people of all races and all economic levels in the North Tulsa community. Starting each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., Wesley provides breakfast and then begins Christian teaching to the children and adults in youth and adult Sunday school classes at 10:00a.m. Then at 11:00a.m., children’s church and adult church begin and are followed by a community lunch, plus groceries and clothing distribution afterwards. Wesley also partners with YouthWorks and a host of churches, businesses, civic groups, law enforcement agencies, foundations and countless individuals to host a 10-week summer leadership camp for North Tulsa children grades 1-5, with teens and adult volunteers serving as leaders. Then during the school year, these partnerships additionally host a 30-week after-school program, and 3 school break camps (Fall, Christmas, Spring break), plus a youth-run pizza business called the YouthWorks Pizza Factory. Wesley also hosts basketball tournaments and camps on the new Oklahoma City Thunder Court built by U.S. Cellular and the OKC Thunder NBA team on our property.
