Tulsa Area Worship Leaders and Worshippers:

I would like to invite you to a special night of inspirstion with James Huey* on Saturday evening, June 7 from 6:30-8 PM. James will spend some time teaching on worship leadership, taking questions from the audience, and modeling worship leadership.

The evening will end with plenty of time to make it home before Sunday morning alarms go off.

Please RSVP so we can have materials (and snacks) ready for you.

There will be a love offering received for James’s ministry.

*James is an anointed worship leader and gospel singer-songwriting. He has worked with several pastors and evangleists helping people encounter the presence of God. His song, “When I Think About the Lord,” has been played all over the world. He is passionate about mentoring worship leaders and worship musicians.

Camp Create registration is open!

Camp Create is a 5-day creative arts day camp for students 1st - 6th grade. This year, the meeting location is Bixby First Assembly from 9:30AM-12:30PM.

All crafts, projects, classes…everything is included in the registration process including a camp shirt.

In a world that is full of overwhelm and oversharing and over-informing, rest can feel very out of place...wrong even.

But when God created humankind, He created us to rest.

In his book, "The Holy Wild: Trusting in the Character of God," Mark Buchanan writes, “Most of the things we need to be most fully alive never come in busyness. They grow in rest.”

Yesterday was a busy day of ministry, but today is a day of rest. Find time today to quiet your mind, still your heart, and rest in God's presence. That rest will equip you to lead and create with better clarity and peace.

This past week one of my God-dreams came true.

Interestingly, it looked very little like I thought it would. The people who originally dreamed it with me are already in heaven. But it still happened.

Years ago, a dear friend and ministry partner, Ron Cunningham and I had a crazy creative dreaming session. What if we launched a creative arts camp for secondary aged students? We would teach them about the power of creativity and how God uses creativity to change culture. We’d call it Camp Create. He’d handle the instruments and I’d take care of the other classes.

This past spring Ron beat us to heaven, but Camp Create still happened. Instead of secondary students it was elementary. Instead of learning instruments we did crafts. But the original purpose—to nurture creativity—that still happened. And I loved every second of it.

It’s so easy to get so focused on our vision or dream that we can’t see how God is making it happen. I don’t doubt that eventually Camp Create could and possibly will grow into what Ron and I saw at the beginning, but this is what it is now. And those 24 elementary students have been inspired with God’s gift of creativity.

The Encounter Worship Camp is designed to raise up a new generation of worship leaders who love the presence of God and love God’s people. And it’s designed to equip these young worship leaders with practical tools to help them lead a ministry.
