Jackie LaDon Morton

Jackie LaDon Morton, lovingly known as LaDon, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years and 4 months.

LaDon was born on April 21, 1935, in Drumright, Oklahoma, to Bob Little and Pauline Little Wallbridge. She grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from high school before continuing her education with business school courses.

On June 11, 1953, LaDon married James “Jim” Charles Morton in Drumright, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and love. LaDon held several roles throughout her life, including working as a hairdresser, secretary, and Vice President of Morton Homes. However, the roles she treasured most were those of homemaker and grandmother.

LaDon was a longtime member of Skelly Drive Baptist Church in Tulsa, where her love for music became an important part of her church life. She loved all things music and played music at Skelly Drive Baptist Church for many years.

LaDon was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Pauline; her beloved husband, James “Jim” Morton; her brother, Eddie Bob Little; and her firstborn son, James Charles Morton Jr.

She is survived by her two sons and their families, Jimmy Scott Morton and his wife, Misti Morton, of Grove, Oklahoma, and James Craig Morton and his wife, Jane Morton.

Her grandchildren include Jeffrey and Michelle Morris; Ashley Morton Merrion and her spouse, Michael Merrion, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Jacob Charles Morton and his spouse, Madison Morton, of Edmond, Oklahoma.

LaDon's legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Selah Morris, Alice Mae Merrion, Stella Dawn Morton, Harrison Charles Morton, and other cherished family members. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

LaDon was a special lady who will be greatly missed by those of us who remain and warmly received by those who went before her. Her life of faith, family, and music leaves behind memories that will continue to be treasured by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Skelly Drive Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Kent House officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery in Tulsa.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who prayed for LaDon, visited her, or sent cards and notes throughout her recent illness. They would also like to thank Saint Francis Hospice and the staff and caregivers at Porta Caeli House for the kindness and compassionate care they provided to LaDon.
