Change of Service Time: Starting Sunday, June 1, we will change worship service times to 12:00 Noon followed by a cooking class after church for all parents and their children.

We are needing tents and blankets for the women and men that we work with who are homeless.  Let us know if you would like to donate tents or blankets.

Also, a woman in catoosa has a tent she wants to donate, but I would need somebody to pick it up. Does anybody live out that direction?

Looking to hire one more driver for our afterschool program to start picking up elementary school kids at 2:30 PM from home or school, then pick up junior high and high school kids at 4 PM, and then drop them off at home after the after school program starting at 6:30 PM.  Pay is $10 per hour, must be able to pass a background check and references, and have a clean driving record.

I just learned that Pastor Don Scott passed away. What a great man of God. He was serving as the senior pastor at Wesley Chapel when I was appointed associate pastor 17 years ago.  He was an amazing preacher, a mentor, and a friend. I was really enjoying being under the leadership of a pastor like Don Scott and I encouraged him to stay on as pastor as long as he wanted. But he loved spending time with his wife Shirley and wanted to retire. I have loved being pastor of Wesley the past 16 years, but I sure did enjoy the period of working with Pastor Scott. He loved telling the world about Jesus and was especially passionate about teaching all about the Holy Spirit. Pastor Scott will be greatly missed by all of us, and on behalf of Wesley Chapel, we are honored to pay our greatest respect to Pastor Don Scott and his years of preaching, teaching and shepherding our congregation. We praise God that he is receiving the fullest joy of being with Jesus right now!

Two weeks from today (today is Saturday), you and your family are invited to our Western Fun & Family Night at YouthWorks Ranch! That’s Saturday, September 23, from 4 to 7 PM and you will be blessed with horseback riding, country line dance lessons, Christian and country singers, a mechanical bull, tours of the 12000 square foot Better Day Farms Greenhouse, the new Multiponic Greenhouse, and a wonderful dinner program. 

RibCrib is donating the meal for the night and our purpose of having you and your friends and family come is to meet the awesome children of our North Tulsa community, learn about the challenges they face (58% drop out before graduating), how YouthWorks helps empower each child to live out their life dreams as they learn how to transform their community, and share with you ways that you can help these kids, either financially, with your expertise, or as a volunteer.

Would you like to bless some really sweet kids?  These girls go to our 10-week Summer Dream Camp for North Tulsa kids. Their mom told me that they needed help with school uniforms.

If you would like to help, here’s their sizes:

Shana is size 10/12 and wears a size 2 shoe.

Arianna is size 7 and wears a size 12 in shoes.

Field trip chaperones needed! You can even bring your kids with you and we will cover their admission. Next week we have three awesome field trips for the summer camp kids we work with and we are needing  chaperones from 12:30 to 3 PM at these sites:

Monday: Oklahoma aquarium
Tuesday: H2O Water Park
Wednesday: Tulsa Pop Kids

Want to bless some awesome summer camp kids? Each summer someone steps up to help our YouthWorks 10-week Summer Deeam Camp kids with swimming suits so they don’t have to sit out during our twice weekly swim field trips. We have had several swim sponsors step up to help some of the kids, but we still have about 10 to 15 kids who don’t have swimsuits. 

These are girls swimsuits that are needed for girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. The boys can get in wearing shorts, but the girls need swimsuits. 

If you would like to bring swimsuits, you can bring them to Wesley chapel at 2750 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
