I've been made aware that there is a large group of people who have been delivered from many different things, but mainly drugs and alcohol, which is a beautiful thing, but they fail to understand that maturity is a process so they immediately run out to become teachers and everyone loves them, looking to them as leaders. God's spirit is precious and his character is cultivated much like creation, in progression through perseverance. As soon as the seed of the Gospel is planted, it starts getting tested and almost immediately the adversary comes in to try to steal it or choke it out. The person called into the spiritual wilderness is tested to see if they like God's true character, which is given through his Son. The testing is to see if the person chooses righteousness over flattery, fear, intrigue, pride, greed etc. and changes towards the likeness of Christ through fire and tribulation, staying grounded in trusting.
I don't speak of my own power but of Gods. Most people don't like my words because they have authority and cut through bone and marrow down to the very conscience. The authority holds power and brings light and shaking to people's lives when God decides it's time for them to see. I've encountered people being tested, and always they won't talk because the words I speak aren't my own. These people think they can teach without becoming a freshly prepared wineskin and believe they understand the mysteries of God when they have only just begun being delivered. You can't promote two kingdoms, the world and the Kingdom of God. I and my wife have been tested and tried to see if we want to be a false teacher, popular, powerful, wealthy, and people pleasing while claiming the name of Jesus or a humble servant of God used for his purposes, not ours. A humility and trust that has been continually cultivated through the fire of tribulation and perseverance in doing good which grows God's character, less of us and more him. The one Jesus says, "Go away from me, I never knew you," is one that lacks God's true character and taught with their own authority while claiming the name of Jesus.
The message to these self-proclaimed leaders and teachers: Your popularity isn't from God; anyone holding tight to the world's ways should hate you like they hated him. Listen and grow only from truth. God hates sin. The battle is against sin, and the weapons given through Christ are powerful enough to win every battle against sin. So if I come to you, I was sent, and a wise person that listens will grow yet wiser. I'm not important, it's the time I've been in the wilderness and the countless times of being humbled yet not destroyed. Nobody has really felt the tribulation yet but those who continue to thirst for righteousness and hold onto trust will be his remnant.
