Hola friends and familia! The cold is coming, and we’re grateful that our Mayor and the City of Tulsa are intentionally partnering with CREOKS, BeHeard Movement, and others to create an emergency weather shelter for anyone or any family who needs it to survive.
Mesa Church is on 7216 E Admiral Pl. In September, our members voted to sell our entire property to CREOKS Mental Health Services. In November, we officially transferred ownership of the building. This transaction created an opportunity for us to remain on the property as tenants rather than owners, fully unlocking the potential of this property for the glory of God and the benefit of others.
The church facility was never meant to sit empty, eagerly waiting for Sunday to arrive. Its hallways were meant to be daily witnesses of God’s power and presence. We believe we will see this now more than ever as CREOKS, City of Tulsa, Beheard Movement, and others work to develop a plan to help our community each day.
We love our community and are passionate about seeing every person in it fully restored by Jesus!!
This winter shelter is just one of many amazing services provided through intentional partnerships to bring about real restoration from the real problems that have plagued our community for decades without an adequate solution. I pray our church gets to be the first to embrace the abandoned, abused, and afraid because we’re not going anywhere!
“May the Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” (Number 6:22)
Bendiciones Tulsa!
**New Inclement Weather Shelter Opening Ahead of Winter**
When I signed an Executive Order on Homelessness earlier this year, one of our top priorities was to establish a dedicated inclement weather shelter - and today, that goal is becoming a reality.
I’m proud to share that Tulsa is opening a new inclement weather shelter on November 17 at BeHeard Movement, operated by CREOKS Behavioral Health Services and community partners, to help our most vulnerable neighbors get out of the cold this winter.
This new facility will be open 24/7 through March 31, 2026, offering a safe, supportive, and pet-friendly space.
This is a key step toward our mission to reach functional zero homelessness in Tulsa. It ensures no Tulsan is forced to sleep outside in extreme weather and reflects the compassion and determination of our entire community.
Thank you to our partners at CREOKS, BeHeard, and all of our A Way Home for Tulsa partners for helping make this possible.
Donations are welcome and can be dropped off once the shelter opens or at CREOKS in Midtown (4103 S. Yale Ave.). Needed items include coats, gloves, hats, shoes, pet food, and non-perishable food and hygiene items.
