Before the doors ever opened, there was a yes. 💜

This photo was taken before Cognizant Church officially opened its doors in West Tulsa.

The sign said “Coming September 19, 2021.”

We had no idea exactly what was coming.

We didn't know all the names that would eventually walk through these doors. We didn't know the stories we'd get to become part of. We didn't know the prayers that would be prayed, the baptisms we'd celebrate, the friendships that would form or the lives Jesus would change.

We just knew God had called us here.

Five years later, we're looking back at the moments that made Cognizant what it is today.

And this is where the story begins.

September 19, 2021 → September 2026.

Rooted is more than a class. It’s weeks of digging into God’s Word, building community, asking hard questions, growing deeper, and taking real steps toward Jesus.

There’s new energy.

Progress gets slow.
Life gets busy.

That doesn’t always mean it’s time to quit.

It takes excitement to start. It takes character to finish.

Stay faithful. Keep going. Finish well.

What do you do when what you’re facing feels bigger than you?

Before Jehoshaphat had a strategy, he sought God.

Before he knew how the battle would end, he remembered who God was.

This Sunday, we’re Facing the Giant of Anxiety and learning what it looks like to turn to God FIRST when fear, worry, and the unknown feel overwhelming.
