The DRBA Shepherd's Path and the Carson-Newman University partnership is a three-stage, two-part certificate-based pastoral development program designed to identify, mentor, and equip men who sense God’s call to pastoral ministry. The program will take approximately two years to complete.
Stage One of The Shepherd’s Path is to train/mentor those sensing a call to ministry to help equip them in the pursuit of ministry opportunities. Pastors with years of ministry experience will share their knowledge, experience, and perspectives to help guide and equip those new to the ministry, whether new to their calling, or new to their place of service.
Stage Two is the theological education stage. The theological and biblical academic components of the program will be provided through the partnership with Carson-Newman University. Courses will be taught by qualified pastors in the DRBA. Upon successful completion of the required training, participants will receive a professional studies certificate through Carson-Newman University’s Sager Center for Preaching and Pastoral Ministry.
Stage Three is the launch into ministry!
We need students. In order to get this off the ground, we need men participating in the program. If you, or a man in your church that has surrendered to the ministry is interested in the Shepherd's Path, contact me as soon as possible.
It doesn't matter if you are new to your calling, or if you are already serving in a ministry position. We are here to help you develop that calling.
This is also a matter of commitment. In order to move into Stage 2, the education stage, there has to be satisfactory completion of Stage 1.
The Shepherd's Path, I believe, is going to be a great next step in the life and ministry of the DRBA. But it begins with each of you.
