Pope Leo XIV has designated January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, as the Year of St. Francis of Assisi to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the saint's death in 1226. This is a time to foster peace, ecological care, and spiritual renewal, mirroring St. Francis's simplicity and poverty. The Southeast Deanery of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe has organized two retreats.

The guest speaker will be Fr. Christopher Kyte, who studied at St. Joseph's Seminary in New York and was ordained in 2014 for the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. He is currently assigned to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as the Associate Pastor of Santa Maria de la Paz. Fr. Chris has extensive preaching experience in both parish and conference settings, a passion for personal and communal renewal in Christ, and is an artist who enjoys spending time in the wild places of the Southwest.

Please register with St. Rose of Lima in Santa Rosa and/or Our Lady of Guadalupe in Clovis. Both retreats will follow the same schedule and feature the same talks. They will begin at 9:30 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM, and will include talks, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, confession, a Holy Hour, and a Healing Procession. A simple breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost.
