This morning, Reverend Calvin Coker preached a sermon titled, "Can I Get a Witness: The Sixth Sign of John," drawing from John 9:24-34.

We were reminded Jesus is the light of the world and to speak God's wisdom is all circumstances. In addition, we were encouraged to always choose to speak with assurance of HIS truth rather than acceptance from others. Are we willing to witness boldly in our world? That's what we are called to do. We must live our testimonies! 🔥

Rising Star would like to give a shout out to Brother Michael and La Trina Humphery, who have served the congregation well and are heading off to Texas. We would also like to thank and congratulate Brother Al Richardson, who will act as head of the men's ministry. God is SO good! 🙌🏾

💃🏾🙏🏾 A huge THANK YOU to our Health & Wellness Ministry for helping encourage us to stay fit while worshiping God! From fellowship to fun, their past line dancing class was filled with joy, laughter, movement, and community. 💙✨

Today was Pentecost Sunday and Reverend Calvin Coker gave a sermon titled, "A Church Driven by the Holy Spirit," drawing from Acts 2: 1-13.

On this day, we commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ, empowering them to spread the Gospel. Often celebrated as the "birthday of the Christian church," Rev. Coker asked us to relect. If we truly believe the same Spirit resides in us, ask the Holy Spirit to fall on you and to fill you. 🙌🏾
