Resurrection Sunday! ☀️
Early on the first day of the week, the women go to Jesus’ tomb to complete burial preperations. The find the stone rolled away. Angles announce that Jesus is ALIVE.
Resurrection Sunday comfirms that death did not defeat Jesus!

Silent Saturday is marked by darkness and waiting, waiting in grief, in hope, and with unanswered questions.
Jesus’ body is sealed in the tomb. Guards are posted. The stone is secured.
The sealed stone will not be able to hold Jesus in place. Death is not the end.

Friday
Early morning Jesus is taken to the Sanhedrim. He is then taken to Pontius Pilate. The religious leaders accuse him of kingship. Pilate questions Jesus and repeatly finds no clear guilt. Despite no evidence pressure from the crowd and religous leaders Pilate authorizes the crucifixion of Jesus.
Jesus is mocked, beaten and sentenced to death. He nailed to a cross and pubicly executed. After several hours He dies.

Sabbath is approching, his body is removed quickly and placed in a tomb before sunset.
Not only was his trial rushed his burial was rushed too leaving no time for proper anointing. Which is why Mary anointing ealier was so significant.

Thursday evening Jesus celebrates Passover with His disciples. Jesus washes the disciples feet. During the meal He takes bread and wine and explains that they represent His body and blood speaking of a new convenant. Judas leaves with money box to get the guards to betray Jesus.
Jesus and the disciples got to the Mount of Olives to pray. In the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus is arrested.
Jesus is brought in front of Annas, then Caiaphas the high priest.

Wednesday Jesus was in Bethany, Mary (sister of Martha and Lazarus) came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His feet and she wiped his feet with her hair.
Judas agrees to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver (the price of a slave). The betrayal comes from within Jesus’ inner circle.

Jesus curse the fig tree symbolizing Israel’s spiritual fruitfulness. Jesus spends the day teaching in Jerusalem. The chief priest and elders approached Jesus and question his authority. Jesus responds with parables about judgement, faithfulness, and responsibility.
