SUNDAY WORSHIP 10:30AM

Worship is at the center of our community at St. Mark’s, reflecting our desire to live faithfully through service, prayer, advocacy, accompaniment, witness and a hospitality that welcomes everyone. in the main sanctuary and includes traditional, contemporary and innovative elements in liturgy, music and visual arts. Mark’s is participatory, with members, friends, youth and

children co-creating the experience by sharing their gifts and talents in a variety of ways. We gather around the Word, but believe that scripture can be faithfully questioned. Sermons are spiritually and intellectually challenging. We charge ourselves weekly to go out into the world as agents of courage, compassion and grace. Join us as we work to create the Beloved Community. WE ARE A 'MORE LIGHT' CHURCH
St. Mark’s is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and proud to be a leader in advocating for full participation of le***an, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons in the entire life of our church. We are a member of More Light Presbyterians, a nationwide network of churches that worked to change our denomination’s policy so that LGBT persons can now be ordained as Elders, Deacons and Ministers of the Word and Sacrament. We celebrate this change and promise to welcome all God’s children into our church family.

From 4 Advent Sundays, through Christmas, to Epiphany Sunday, it has been quite the Christmas season for St. Mark’s!

Swipe to see Dr. Jared Aragón demonstrating how the organ works.

Happy Three Kings Day! As Rev. Stahl-Hamilton reminded us this week, the Epiphany story reminds us to stand up and walk God’s way now. Don’t wait.

On the last day of Advent this past Sunday, we debuted Lou Prinz’ photos of the congregation! As Molly & Sarah lit the Love candle, we were reminded of the love shared here at St. Mark’s.

See you tomorrow at 7pm for Christmas Eve service! 🌟

As we lit the Joy candle for Advent yesterday, we said farewell to Dr. Jared Aragón, our beloved organist and pianist of 10 years.

As a musical offering, his husband JD sang a Hopi song about the celebration of water in the desert — in theme with the sermon and Bible passages about how God shows us water in the desert is a great sign of joy.

We celebrated with treats on a musical note tablecloth! 🎵 🎶 🎼

Check out the livestream on our YouTube channel to hear Jared’s powerful Postlude.

We had the hanging of the “greens” for Advent yesterday, complete with lots of Advent blue, stars, lights, and Christmas trees! 💙

But first we welcomed baby Quincy to the congregation with a baptism. 💜 The St. Mark’s congregation joyfully vowed to care and love for this new light in the world (scroll for precious smiles!)

All Saints’ Day this past Sunday 🧡

Members of our congregation decorated the steps of the sanctuary with an ofrenda. It’s a Mexican tradition to build a colorful shrine with photos of loved ones who have passed on and are celebrated during this season. All Saints, Souls, Día de Los Mu***os, and Halloween are about reminding us to find the joy and celebration of our loved ones who are with God.

We followed service with a potluck formed from the favorite dishes of many of these loved ones! Comfort food all around ❤️

We celebrated the Garden Brigade’s efforts to restore the Labyrinth this Sunday 🌀

Joeine Greene spoke about the origin of the Labyrinth from 2009-2011 when she was Youth Group sponsor.

We also celebrated Mike Smith’s 85th birthday, coming this Wednesday!

The labyrinth is located on 2nd street, near the garden. You can find suggested prayers in the office, M-Th 9AM-12PM. All are welcome to a moment of quiet contemplation whenever needed.

(Estimated time to walk the labyrinth at a slow pace: 7-10 minutes)

We celebrated Pride Sunday yesterday at St. Mark’s!

Most the nation and does Pride in June. Tucson moved Pride celebrations from October to November to beat the heat— we decided to keep October because really, any Sunday is perfect to celebrate our mission’s core belief that all LGBTQIA+ people are welcomed here, as they bring to our understanding of how to live as followers of Christ.

Happy Pride to all, today and everyday. St. Mark’s stands on the side of love ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷
