Dear Loved Ones in Christ,
Happy New Year to you! With the turning of a calendar year, the scripture passage comes to mind from Psalm 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” With God at work, we can eagerly anticipate His plan for us. Though we do not know the details between here and then, we know His plan is for a marvelous eternity beyond our wildest hopes and imaginations (Romans 8:28, Ephesians 3:20). For your planning purposes, we have attached the tentative SWBC Schedule of events for the year 2023. It is also posted on the website at www.southwestbiblecamp.org
As we prayerfully and excitedly consider the upcoming year, the SWBC board would request something of you. We are praying for God to provide staff for each of our summer camps well in advance so that we can open registration for campers early and organize a successful camp season. With those prayers in mind, please consider reaching out with a soft commitment to serving at camp.
Our request is that you spend the rest of January in prayer, seeking God’s wisdom and counsel from other godly believers regarding your involvement in Camp this year. Following this month, we will provide a survey or follow up email contact to you so that you can provide some indication of the Lord’s leading. Our hope and desire is to build up a strong team so that the Lord’s work is not hindered by our own unpreparedness. We believe that a little forethought and prayer can greatly aid in the efficacy of God’s word being shared at SWBC.
We are asking you to respond in February regardless of your intended level of involvement. It would take little time to let us know that you are unavailable or called elsewhere for the summer and even that information will help inform us of what to expect. Whether you plan to be involved in every camp event this year or or your schedule is much more limited, please keep SWBC in your prayers in the following ways.
Requests:
1. Pray that as God’s word is shared at camp that those who hear it would be receptive to the moving of the Holy Spirit.
2. Pray for those who prepare to share God’s word that they would be guided to speak as the Lord moves.
3. Pray for those who are in leadership roles and helping to plan camp events that the Lord would guide their preparations.
4. Pray for the new Family Camp week that God would lead in the best way to minister to this demographic.
Thank you for being interested in Southwest Bible Camp. Remember to pray and please be ready when we reach out in February to share what God has laid on your heart. We trust He has a wonderful plan for each of us and we look forward to the possibility of working for His glory alongside you in Glenwood this year!
In Christ,
