STRIVING VS ABIDING

An invitation from Jesus to strivers (Christian and non-Christian alike)

"Come unto Me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.

For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

DOMINIONISM THROUGH DIMINISHING

Don't be deceived. Groups that focus on taking over this world "for God" are forced to focus on falsehood. They must minimize, marginalize, or ignore the truth of God's Word.

In the broadest terms, they willfully choose to diminish the eternal truth for the sole and selfish purpose of (devish) domination.

For domination to be taught and accepted, one must choose to diminish:

God's Word, truth, God's faithfulness to Israel, the Holy Spirit, Jesus, our Heavenly Father, the Gospel, salvation, sanctification, glorification, the imminent return of Jesus for His bride, an inductive understanding of end times in general, evangelism, discernment, understanding and knowing God, the utter sinfulness of sin, man's willful rebellion, the true nature of man, the biblical dangers of Satan, deception, true reconciliation, righteousness in Christ alone, the biblical purpose of the church, true fellowship, trusting the Lord, resting in the Lord, spiritual growth through the trials of our faith, true victory in Christ, actual freedom in Christ, true peace, true joy, and true love! And the list goes on and on.

Instead of diminishing the very reality God wants to give us, let us instead magnify the Lord and exalt Jesus and His Word! Only then will we find eternal rest for our souls!

"I will praise You with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto You.

I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and for Your truth: for You have magnified Your word above all Your name." Psalm 138:1-2

GO AND TELL

An absolutely excellent discussion with Ben Schettler! He just went through a tough situation in New York. Keep standing firm! Keep sharing God's Word in truth and love!

"In God will I praise His word: in the LORD will I praise His word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me." Psalm 56:10-11

THE LOVE AND GLORY OF JESUS!

"But You, O LORD, are a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head." Psalm 3:3

Excellent reminders from Matthew 7! Praise God for His eternal goodness and grace. Jesus truly loves the untouchables.

Can God receive the glory for healing an individual? Absolutely!

Perhaps the bigger question is, "Can God receive the glory for choosing not to heal someone?" Absolutely!

Often, we learn much more dependence on our Good Shepherd in the valleys than on the mountaintops.

All too often, God's hand is much more evident when we're sinking than when we're soaring.

Is it any wonder why most books and messages preached from today's pulpits and channels are on the soaring rather than the sinking?

Lord, helpless to see the trenches as You see them.

Nevertheless, not my will be done but Yours!

Thanks Pastor Claude T. Stauffer! :)

CLARITY: POLITICS AND THE GOSPEL???

It seems like it's always an "either/or" argument. Either you're for extremely ungodly policies, or you're for those who are against them.

I think Christians feel pressured, often by other Christians, to agree with this line of thinking. After all, who wants immorality to run rampant in our society?

The BIG Problem:
Using the "either/or" argument inevitably lowers the glorious and life-giving Gospel to earthly politics. The question, in and of itself, presupposes politics is the solution.

Instead of approaching the issues of today with an "either/or" mentality, we perhaps need to be a bit more discerning to discuss these issues using a "both/and" approach.

If we can maintain that BOTH the Gospel AND good politics are beneficial, then we can keep them separate. And they MUST be separate!

The Gospel of God can NEVER be intermingled with politics. There are NO laws, rules, regulations, etc. that are necessary from God to enhance or advance the Gospel.

In fact, one might make a case that the Gospel is even more difficult to share when a society is outwardly moral.

Having moral and good politics is good, but allowing God's Word and Gospel to be intermingled with man-made politics is extremely dangerous. In the end, the only thing that will be ruined is the Gospel and people's hope in it.

Allowing the glorious Gospel of God to be intermingled with state politics has NEVER EVER worked throughout history. And for some reason, many people have simply forgotten about Geneva, etc.

Man's ways and God's ways simply don't mix.

"Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: but we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18-24

CLARITY: POLITICS AND GOD'S WORD???

Perhaps a simple definition of politics is "men tinkering". In a very general sense, politics is simply mankind developing rules, laws, procedures, and systems to help move things in a particular direction. Good or bad, from an earthly perspective, politics is nothing more than this. (Genesis 11 gives us a very real look at the endgame of man-centered, religious civilizations.)

Unfortunately, it's easy to be influenced to move in the wrong direction. Can politics be somewhat influenced by the Bible? Most assuredly. The problem that we are facing today is that politics is subtly, and sometimes not so subtly, being placed on a pedestal above Scripture by making it equal in its power and authority.

Whether knowingly or unknowingly, there's a sleight of hand going on even within many Christian circles. There is NO command from God in His Word to utilize politics as the tip of the spear. Politics is completely unnecessary as the means by which the Gospel and the church "advance".

None of the disciples, apostles, or martyrs of old needed politics to turn the world upside down. None of them.

Why we are so enamored with utilizing man-made systems today as if the Gospel needs any help from us is more that a bit mystifying. The Gospel of God is the power of God. It needs no help from the ways of men. Politics, at best is the power of man.

The Antichrist will be a political leader. He will seek to utilize every political means and method regardless of the aisle in order to secure world domination. Sadly, many Christians are unwittingly helping to build the yellow brick road.

Again, can politics be influenced by the Bible? Most definitely. However, what's happening today is the complete opposite. By putting politics on an equal playing field with the Gospel, we are allowing our adversary free rein to tinker with God's Word. And in the end, God's Word will simply be relegated to words on paper that can be torn out or added to. Perhaps this should be called the Thomas Jefferson model. If we ignorantly hand over God's Word to the hands of men, that'll be as good as it gets.

Yes, politics can be influenced by the Bible, but never should we allow the Bible to be influenced by politics!

By pushing politics as the divinely inspired, earthly means of mankind's spiritual hope, we are playing the enemy's game, allowing the hands of fallen men to toy with the Word of God. May it never be!

"Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness."
1 Corinthians 3:18-19
