A great honor it was to hear Jeff speak!! 👏
Jeff is an incredibly important person to the operation of our church. As he spoke this week on Romans chapter 4, touching on the battle of Abraham and his journey with the Lord.

“Abraham believed God, and God
counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

God provided to Abraham what he promised and prove he is who he says.

Rom 4:22-25 And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.

Romans 3:21-31
21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the
requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses[a] and the prophets
long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is
true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Amiee had a wonderful sermon this week with the big idea of Jesus is the solution for our hotmess hearts and nothing else.
God is fair and good. He justifies our actions based on his holy, righteous matter.

Since our sentence was paid for by Jesus, we can be in right standing with God and are acquitted of any penalty.

There is an inverse of the truth being “He is here for me.” It’s not about making ourselves right with God. It’s about God making us right with himself. The Lord has so much more for us and we must take steps towards the vision and purpose he has for us. You are reading this because God is doing something.

Ask Him The Big Question.
Ask Him About Your Purpose.
And Listen To What He Says.
Write It Down.

Find Good News In What He Is Doing In Your Life.

Then Form Your Identity and Take Care Of The Business He Gave You. Eliminate The Distractions Because Whatever Bad News Comes, God Gives You The Good News In Jesus.

📰 INCOMING NEW SERIES…

What an exciting Sunday we had including the start of our new series here at CVC!!

Over the next few weeks, we will be reading Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans with the big idea in mind that, In a world of bad news, God gives good news in Jesus.

Romans 1:16-17 NLT
“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.””

So let’s get reading and ready to dive deeper into one of the most profound books of the Bible!!

And don’t get discouraged!! It’s okay to take your time.

And this week service Pastor Jeff had used a stool as an example of peoples faith. It’s easy to say you’re fully committed to God yet you’re only putting half your weight on him. You’ve got one hand on the stool because “just in case.”
