Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church prepared the August 3 meal for homeless and food-challenged served at Southside Presbyterian Church. Nearly 200 meals were served which included hot dogs, cole slaw, macaroni salad, baked beans, potato chips and fruited jello. Thanks to all who participated. And to Paul, who shared this post!)

Well, once again, the Peanut Butter Man made his annual appearance at Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church. He had just returned from vacation break, hence his tropical accoutrements.
He explained he had gone to Hawaii to see the oozing peanut butter fields he had seen in videos. But, much to his chagrin, they turned out to be LAVA, which was WAY too hot to eat up! He couldn’t appreciate them like he could a nice peanut butter spread.
However, even though he eventually had a good time, especially after discovering pina coladas, he knew some folks couldn’t enjoy their vacation breaks. He said, when some local children take a break from school for the summer, they lose the only good meal they may have while school is in session.
But thanks to our friends at ICS, their wonderful annual Peanut Butter Party peanut butter drive gathers a good source of protein for those kiddos and their families while school is out for the summer.
Well, good ol’ Peanut Butter Man must have inspired the gang at Mountain Shadows, as they ended up donating 703 pounds of peanut butter! Way to go, Mountain Shadows!
And thank you Peanut Butter Man for the inspiration. We look forward to seeing you next year!

Well, Mountain Shadows has done it again! We have donated a tower of peanut butter to Interfaith Community Services as part of their annual Peanut Butter Party; a drive to gather 10,000 jars of peanut butter to supply local families with a source of protein for the summer. Even The Peanut Butter Man stopped by the church a couple of Sundays ago to encourage Mountain Shadows parishioners to donate.
This year, Mountain Shadows was able to contribute 703 pounds of peanut butter! Way to go Mountain Shadows!
This is only one of the ways Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church is, as our banner states, “Caring for Community”.

Regardless of their family status, men of the PC(USA) share their time, talent, spirit, and energies. Thank you, menfolk!

Today, the PC(USA) honors Father's Day by celebrating the contributions of all Presbyterian men. Regardless of their family situation, the men of the PC(USA) share their time, talents, spirit & energies, fulfilling their call to be disciples of Jesus Christ and enriching the lives of others.

We thank God for the life of Karen Lamkin, our sister in Christ, congregation member, and choir member. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church. All are welcome.
