Today's Verse
“So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have told you to do. You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of time.”

Matthew 28:19-20 ERV

Devotion
Evangelism is simply sharing the gospel with the intention of persuading. Every believer has a mandate to share his or her faith with other people. Believers have been entrusted with the instructions in our verse of the day, the Great Commission.

First and foremost, looking at the verse above, we see that followers of Christ are commanded to evangelize and make disciples. When someone responds to the gospel and gives his life to Christ, then we disciple him in a local church. The process of evangelism is about persuading a non-believer to become a disciple of Christ.

Sharing the good news of Christ is much simpler when we truly consider the amazing gospel and our salvation. Humanity’s relationship with God was ruptured as a result of sin. God intended to use the sacrifice of his only Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue humanity rather than punish them for their sins. We were accepted as God’s Sons, our sins were pardoned, and we were made right with our Creator. When we consider this amazing message and God’s goodness, we are compelled to share Christ with others in an effort to win their souls.

Additionally, since we have been saved, have seen the goodness of our salvation, and are aware of what happens to unbelievers, we have a responsibility to spread the gospel in order to prevent people from perishing. There are so many verses in the Bible that talk about hell for people who do not know God. Knowing this terrible reality for unbelievers, we are burdened to try our best to save our friends, our families, our colleagues, and as many people as we can. Hence, we strive to be obedient in evangelism, because we love the Lord, and we want to see Him rightly honored and worshipped.

Let us become ambassadors of Christ, let our lives model Christ, so that even when we have not spoken a word, our way of life will have reflected the goodness of Christ already. As we share the gospel of Christ, let us become conscious of the mandates we were given. The Lord counts on us to deliver the message of salvation to non-believers, so we share it with diligence and the zeal to make disciples. This task, however, is not without its challenges. We might feel at times overwhelmed, discouraged, or fearful; but when we do it from a place of knowing that it is not about us, but Christ, we do it better. Another thing that makes it easier is constant reliance on the One who sent us.

In conclusion, we must look at evangelism as simply sharing the gospel. It is not just preaching on the pulpit telling unbelievers to repent. We must ask God to bless our technique of sharing the Gospel and that the Holy Spirit would speak to the heart to persuade and make the unbeliever believe in the One who matters the most, Jesus Christ.

Today's Verse
[Jesus] said to them, “Go everywhere in the world. Tell the Good News to everyone. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. But those who do not believe will be judged guilty.”

Mark 16:15-16 ERV

Devotion
People need salvation from God. And it does not matter when and where they live. God desires to bring them to salvation.

As Christians, it is very important for us to obey our Lord Jesus Christ’s command to preach the Gospel of Jesus always and to everyone. God’s plan is for us all to hear the gospel. As it is written in the Word of God, “God wants everyone to be saved and to fully understand the truth,” (1 Timothy 2:4).

Christ’s call for us is to be His witnesses, and evangelism is one way in which we can fulfill this. The Bible says, “But the Holy Spirit will come on you and give you power. You will be My witnesses. You will tell people everywhere about Me—in Jerusalem, in the rest of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world,” (Acts 1:8).

There are so many ways we can witness for our Lord Jesus Christ, and we should use any opportunity to share the Gospel of Christ. For example, one way is through showing love to our neighbors. By doing this, we show the world that we belong to the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus was clearly a great soul winner (and Savior), the Great and Unique Evangelist. And we should follow His example. Today, Christians have the Spirit of Christ in them; Jesus Christ guaranteed that He’s there with us to the end of time. Because we have the Spirit of Christ in us, we have His enablement and His authority; so let us use every opportunity to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May the Lord bless you.

Today's Verse
The LORD replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.”

Exodus 33:14 NLT

Devotion
The Lord had given Moses a difficult task. He was to lead the people of Israel to the Promised Land. Moses was worried, however, for the Lord had not said who would go with him to show him the way, (Exodus 33:12). The Lord assured him with the words of our verse for today. God Himself would go with him, and give him rest, and everything would be fine.

All of us who are in Christ Jesus have tasks to perform in the Kingdom of God. All of us are on a journey to the Promised Land. The Lord has called us out of our own Egypt of slavery to sin and led us into our own Wilderness of testing and growing. “For we know that “when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing,” (James 1:4).

Like Moses, at times we may wonder how we will get to that perfect and complete place; we may wonder if the Lord will show us the way. Our verse for today speaks to us just as much as it spoke to Moses. God Himself, personally, will go with us. God will show us the way through the desert. The promise is not that God will give us a map and wish us good luck. Rather, the promise is for personal guidance and direction from God Himself. God will be there with us, side by side.

And God will give us rest during the journey. We need not wonder and worry along the way. We can find rest in the assurance of God’s promise. No matter what comes our way—and a lot came Moses’ way—God will be there for us to help us make it through.

And everything will work out fine for us. This does not mean that we will never see trials and tribulations. Moses saw plenty of them. It means, rather, that our tasks will come to completion; it means that “God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished,” (Philippians 1:6).

Today, be at peace, for God is personally going with you on your journey.

Today's Verse
The first thing Andrew did was to go and find his brother Simon. Andrew said to him, “We have found the Messiah.” (“Messiah” means “Christ.”) Then Andrew brought Simon to Jesus.

John 1:41-42 ERV

Devotion
Do you remember what it was like when you first found Jesus? Do you remember the joy in your heart when you realized that He held the answers to every question you ever dared to ask? Do you remember the unexplainable peace you felt for the first time in so long? That overwhelming feeling of unconditional love that was yours now that He had come into your life? That feeling of gratitude that you had because all of your sins had been forgiven?

What did you do then? You told someone, right? You told someone because you just had to share this amazing news with those closest to you. That’s what Andrew did for his brother.

Andrew didn’t just tell Simon Peter that they had found Jesus. He knew that he had to bring him to Jesus. He had to tell him, and he had to bring him. The same thing is true for you and me. We need to tell people about the purpose, peace, joy, love, and forgiveness we’ve found in Jesus and bring them to Jesus. We don’t do it in an arrogant or judgmental way. We do it with love, gentleness, and respect. We do it because we love them and they just have to know this Man named Jesus because Jesus changes everything.

Yes, “everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:13 ERV

Devotion
When I was eight years old, I proclaimed my faith in the Lord Jesus and was baptized into Christ. I can still remember standing in the water and making that confession of faith. As I reflect on that event, I think of all the people who have ever trusted the Lord for salvation. There have been entertainers, athletes, powerful politicians, celebrities, and world leaders. There have also been prisoners, paupers, preachers, homeless people, addicts, and a bunch of nobodies like me.

You see, the Good News of the Gospel isn’t for a select few such as the famous, the powerful, and the elite. The Good News of the Gospel isn’t just for Jews or Gentiles. The Good News of the Gospel isn’t just for one race or tribe. No, the Good News of the Gospel is for everyone.

The Apostle Paul said that everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved. He was quoting from the Old Testament book of Joel (2:32). Just as we are all sinners, so we can all become saints by trusting in the Lord. Everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved.

Here is what is amazing about this concept—no one is ever too far gone to be saved by the grace of God. When Paul said that everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved, he meant everyone. Your co-worker, your neighbor, your kids, your grandkids, your unbelieving spouse, your friends, and even your enemies all have the potential to be saved. It all comes down to trusting in Jesus. Don’t give up on anyone, because “everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved.”
