Northlake Church of Christ

Northlake Church of Christ Following Jesus Together Northlake believes in the transforming power of God. We believe this because we have experienced it.

Composed of rich and poor, young and old, black and white, and everything in between, Northlake’s diversity reflects our belief that we serve a God who unites. We honor God through worship, seek to live like Jesus, and express God’s great love for us by serving others. We also wrestle with tough questions about our world and God, sometimes struggling with each other through the pain that accompani

es life. We believe in the power of the gospel to change lives, but you won’t find a perfect group of people claiming to have all the right answers. You will find people who are going to genuinely care about you. So whether you are a lifelong follower of Christ, or someone who harbors serious doubts about Christian faith, we invite you to explore our community. Let us show you how we have been changed by our loving God. SUNDAY

We're honoring Ike and Gwyn for 40 years at Northlake on September 28!

In the summer of 1985, the Decatur Church of Christ hired 23-year-old Ike Reeser to serve as its first Young Life Minister. He moved from Tennessee and brought with him his bride, the former Gwyn Mercer.

Forty years later, Ike is still on our staff as Preaching Minister, and Gwyn is serving in the role of Care Ministry Coordinator. They've both taken on a myriad of other roles and responsibilities over the years. It's simply impossible to overstate the impact these two have made on our church family.

On Sunday, September 28, the church has planned a day of celebration of Ike and Gwyn's 40 years of service to Decatur/Northlake (and it's not a secret). Here's how you can be a part of the celebration:

First, please plan to join us that day for our 10:30 worship and the all-church potluck lunch that will follow. Ike would especially love to reconnect with those who were part of his Kids' Ministry back in the day (you can even wear your old camp T-shirt if you like!).

Second: If you'd like to express your love and thanks to Ike and Gwyn in words (to be assembled into a memory book to be presented to them on that Sunday), please send it by email to [email protected]. It can be of any length: a funny story, a special memory, or just a word of encouragement and thanks. The deadline for submitting these is September 21.

Please mark your calendars! See you on Sunday, September 28!

Feel free to share this invite with those who love Ike & Gwyn 💜

Thanks to the 50+ Northlake volunteers who made todays Drive Thru Food Distribution a huge success! It was great to see the smiles on our neighbors as they received valuable fresh produce from our partners NETWorks Cooperative Ministry and Atlanta Community Food Bank. Love Your Neighbor month has started with a bang, and there is more to come 💜🙏
