Summer Field Trip
Our next outing will be THURSDAY, June 11th to the Steffen Thomas Art Museum outside of Madison. We'll eat lunch before going to the museum at Amici's. This "pizza" place is located in the older Livery Stable just off the square. They serve the best pizza in town plus sandwiches, burgers, wings and a lot more.
After lunch we'll head a few miles outside of Madison to the "other" Buckhead for a guided tour of the Steffen Thomas Art Museum. This small museum, that features only one artist, is one of a few in the United States. Steffen Thomas, German born, was fascinated by every medium, and always wanted to show visitors his latest creation. Not only did he paint but was also a famous Sculptor and so much more! His energy was unbounded; he let his creativity take him anywhere it wanted to go. At the same time, he was a loyal and loving husband and father. He was always seeking the truth and ways to express his vision of the true “brotherhood of man”– a theme reflected in much of his work. His daughter Lisa will be our guide. Admission to the Museum is $18.00 to be paid at the door.
We'll leave Tucker at 10:00 am so we can have lunch and get to the museum no later than 1:30 pm. We'll return to Tucker by 4:00 pm. Please email or call Pat Baker to get your name on the list to go BY MONDAY, JUNE 8TH.
