God is not waiting for you to fix yourself before you come back to Him.
A lot of us think we need to clean up our lives first. We tell ourselves we will pray more when we feel worthy, go back to Confession when we have changed, or get serious about God when we finally have everything under control.
But that is backwards.
God wants you to bring Him the mess too. Your weakness. Your bad habits. Your fears. Even the parts of yourself you wish were different.
Sister Clare Crockett prayed:
“Lord, take me as I am, with my defects, with my shortcomings, but make me become as you want me to be.”
That is not permission to stay stuck in sin. It is surrender. Jesus meets sinners where they are, then calls them to a new life. Holiness does not begin when you become strong enough. It begins when you finally let God work on the parts of you that you cannot fix alone.
💬 What is one thing you keep telling yourself you need to “fix” before you fully give your life to God?
Someone you love may need this reminder today more than you realize.
