Lesson Title: Hidden Dangers in Choosing a Church

It’s 9:30 at night, the meeting ended an hour ago and we are just closing up the building after a great conversation with a brother.

The first night of our meeting was most excellent.

To sum it up:

Acts 4:32-37 (NASB95) 32 And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them. 33 And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. 34 For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales 35 and lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need. 36 Now Joseph, a Levite of Cyprian birth, who was also called Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of Encouragement), 37 and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Can’t wait until tomorrow morning as we pick the series up again at 10:30AM.

This is a difficult meeting to be excited about, and at the sametime not reveal the content of the lessons, other than the title.

All, I can say is: I’m fairly confident that it is not what you think.

So, please join us this weekend as we discuss one of the most important topics in the New Testament, outside God’s desires to save us through the Gospel. The death, burial, and resurrection of His Son, so that we may be redeemed and added to His church.

Please join us from October 10-12 for our fall Gospel Meeting with Steven Tramell from Mt. View Church, in Cu***ng, Ga. Steven will be spending 3 days with us presenting lessons on the characteristics we should be looking for in a Church.

Meeting begins Friday Night October 10, 7:00PM and will conclude on Sunday Morning October 12 at 10:30AM.

The invitation is for all, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Just a reminder about our upcoming Gospel meeting with Eric Parker from the Taylorsville Road Church of Christ in Louisville Kentucky.

The meeting will begin Sunday April 27 and run through Wednesday April 30th.

The Topic comes carries on our theme for 2025 from Matthew 4:4, Man Shall Not Live by Bread, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

John 1:1-5 (NASB95) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

I know it’s late and I apologize, but we had a last minute change for our sermon tomorrow as one of our preachers was delayed coming to us.

We will be looking at Matters of the Heart, connecting The Semon on the Mount to the Prophesied New Covenant in Jeremiah 31, finishing up our thoughts in the book of Joshua as we look at it as an allegory for the conquest God has set before us to overcome all the sin and doubt in our hearts.

It’s time for us to be strong and courageous, face our giants of sin and doubt, and conquer them through the power of God’s word.

Don't forget we embark on our transformative Not By Bread Alone class tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's class is a prologue to the actual Not By Bread Alone class, laying the groundwork with inspiring foundational teaching. Bible Class 9:30 - 10:15AM Worship begins at 10:30AM We will delve into the history behind Matthew 4 and Luke 4 from Deuteronomy 8 and Exodus 16 during the sermon. As it is said, come as you are and leave changed. Hope to see you all tomorrow.
