Based on the recommendation of the CDC and the request of the President and his medical staff requesting that for the next 15 days we limit public gatherings, CMBC will be following that request and we are canceling ALL SERVICES from now through March 30th. If things settle down We will go back to regular services, but if not we will reevaluate as needed.
Some may think we are overreacting by doing this. There has been many humorous memes on Facebook about the virus, and I think the media has gone overboard in many ways, but the reality is that no matter how low the numbers are people have died and the elderly are the most at risk. If we did not close and follow CDC guidelines and one of our members caught this and died, We could not live with ourselves for neglecting that advice.
If staying at home or not getting in large public crowds for 15 days could prevent further national outbreak, why would we not do this? Families enjoy time together. Worship together on Sunday as a family. Read and discuss your Sunday school lessons. Men lead your family in a Bible study. Most importantly pray with one another and for our nation. God bless you all. We love you all and Lord willing We will see you again on April 1st!
